Lots of stuff I noticed, myself, some of it maybe intentional, some of it maybe not, and some scenes that I felt missing almost instantly as they passed

The Kryptonite chunk Lex steals is apparently the EXACT SAME CHUNK he stole in the first movie--as evidenced by the card underneath the display that mentions the rock was found in Addis Ababa in the year 1978

The train set scene seems to be an excuse to do, models style, a recreation/montage of all the disaster sequences in Supermans I and II: trainwrecks, the defacing of Mount Rushmore, cars disappearing into cracks in the earth, torrents of water destroying cities--and with almost the same amount of crap model-work as in the 78 movie. Except this time played for giggles

Glenn Ford's picture is still on the mantle in the Kent Farmhouse

The entire structure of the movie is almost identical to Donner's: Krypton Explodes, Clark lands, goes to metropolis, has to save Lois from an airborne disaster--she faints directly afterwards, Luthor grabs a rock from Addis Ababa, his girlfriend loses her nerve after Lex harms her psychologically (78: Sentences Tessmachers mom to death, 06: cuts her brakes as bait) Lex poisons Superman with Kryptonite and leaves him to die in a body of water.

Deleted Scenes I noticed:

Exploration of Krypton, of course.

Half of the conversation between Clark and Lois in front of the Planet, by the cab, is omitted. The full thing is on the documentary, but half of it is chopped out in the film

Stephen Bender's role is chopped in half as well, ending just as he learns he can float/fly

James Karen is credited, but you hear one line of his, and only see a quarter of his face in frame at the very end, outside the hospital

Clark inspecting his suit in the briefcase is nowhere to be found. I don't know if that scene was in the broom closet, but also the entire white t-shirt rip and the broom closet scene has also been excised.

The shot of Clark iconically lifting his head in silhouette is nowhere to be found.

I'm sure there's other little easter eggs littered around the movie that I missed, as well as deleted scenes from the trailers that you noticed.

The one thing I noticed was Lex didn't tell Superman he set him up. All the references to survivors and remains of Krypton being a hoax was missing or not filmed or whatever. That's in the book, not in the trailers though.

The whole Clark not sure if he wants to go back to being Superman has been omitted too.

Yeah, I don't know if that was ever written or shot, but I'd think it'd be something they'd talk about before he got up the stairs.

yeah, and I forgot to mention Gotham being mentioned as one of the cities he helped out since he'd been back.

What about the white shirt rip and the scene of him in the DP janitor closet. I was looking forward to that...it seems that a lot of BR's stuff was taken out...wonder why?

I did mention that. What's odd is the set-up to that sequence is still in the film--there's a sort of slow shot of him very carefully opening up the closet and setting his bags in there (along with his bags constantly being tripped over and introducing Jimmy Olsen) and then it never got paid off--he shirt ripped and the suit was already on.

Oh, the intro credits were like the old movies. Which I thoguht was freaking awesome.

I just hope the extended edition is everything that is missing. All these scenes were shot, so I want them in the movie.

I pray to GOD that Singer doesn't do an X1.5 for SR. I hated that press the button to see the scene crap.

Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris appear in the museum scene together writing stuff down before being 'escorted' out.

There was an obvious homage to the Action Comics #1 cover.

Perry said "Great Ceasar's Ghost" - Classic Silverage Line.

The title of one of the newspapers at the end was "Superman Lives" (the aborted earlier Jon Peters film)

There were lots more, let me try to remember..

My mind keeps telling me there was something on that scrabble board Ma Kent was playing. Can anyone help me out here?

The scrabble board said "Alienation" along with other references to Superman's feelings.

Great, I'll check it out when I see the movie again.

In an earlier post someone said something about Jason having Aquaman PJs, anyone?

Also the scene where Clark is reading old newspapers in the barn catching up on times he wasn't there...

Also, I remembered seeing, from the blog I think, that Singer wanted a special effect look on Superman's eyes when he uses the heat vision, but I guess that was never made anymore...

...unless I missed it...TVspot scene cut...quote "So you just flew in?" and Lex pronouncing Kryptonite with roll under his toungue, sounding like a leprechaun, actually I wasn't looking forward to that moment so I'm glad I didn't hear it.

Did anyone catch the name of the Baseball teams playing?

actually that was in there...not fully, and not nearly as dramatic as the teaser

Actually that scene where he's lifting is head was from the scene in the barn, that scene was completely cut.

Lex does say it, when he kicks Superman down the "stairs" of New Krypton.

hmm...where was my head at?...well, seeing it again tommorrow...maybe I'll catch some legit ones.

I think it's another meteor from Adis Ababa, because Mrs. Tessmocker threw the Kryptonite down into the sewer.
