Agatha Christie's 'Death on the Nile'

The editing gymnastics to avoid showing Hammer was impressive and the production values look class, but this has been done twice already, I don't know what it can offer to differentiate itself.

I know Letitia won't take the vaccine but who is the other anti-vaxxer?

I mean Armie Hammer was pretty clear to see in the trailer. Like he wasn't the centerpiece, but he was plainly there. Also, his name was flashed in he cast list.

I quite like the first one as well. I think Kenneth Branagh is hit and miss as a director, but when he's good, he's really good. I loved Belfast.

At the end of the day, I'm of the opinion that it's not fair to the rest of the cast and crew to boycott a movie because of bad behavior by one of the stars, if it's not something that was well-documented beforehand (see: Woody Allen or Roman Polanski) and the person in question is facing consequences regardless of the success of the film.

It also kind of helps that the character isn't a hero or anything lol

Anybody checking this out tonight?
if so, did they deviate from the source material?
Feel free to use spoiler tags.

Enjoyed it. Started awfully slow but things really get good in the second half and I was immersed. Beautifully shot too

I saw it yesterday. Haven't read the source material so couldn't tell ya though.

Enjoyed it for the most part. Not quite as much as the first one, and I figured it out pretty early, but it was nicely shot and engrossing enough. Mostly it made me wanna go to Egypt, tbh.

I think word of mouth should be fairly strong, especially among the target audience and I don't think Uncharted will take too much away from this one

Saw this last night and although I felt it was better than Murder on the Orient Express, the reveal is something my wife and I called in the first 20 mins and a ton of the CGI was distracting.

I'll say I did enjoyed the part where they explain the origins of Hercule Poirot's mustache. :o

Loved it! I don't think it's quite as good as 'Orient Express,' but still great. Gorgeously shot and designed, and Branagh has really mastered the staging of the classic mystery to craft tension and suspicion within the shots. His acting as Poirot also continues to excel. He goes through a whole lot of feels here, and sells them so well. And he has killer tension with Sophie Okonedo. Besides them, the biggest star is Emma Mackey. She absolutely captivates every second she's on screen. This deserves to be a major star-making turn for her.

Anyway, I hope this does well enough for the studio to let Branagh keep making these. I love his Poirot, and hope to be able to keep returning to him like a reliable old friend for years to come.

The Hulu/Disney+ situation is so weird right now
Throw in the whole Fox movies going to HBO Max thing too and it gets even weirder.

Curious to see what will happen now that Disney+ added parental lock for more mature content

Maybe they just want to beef up the Hulu line-up? I mean this could definitely be on Disney+ too so I don’t know how they figured this out.

Now that I think about it, it could have to do with some sort of contracts. Since it's a Fox movie, maybe it has to go to Hulu first?

That’s what I thought too but wasn’t West Side Story a Fox movie also? That went straight to Disney+.
