1. Whether it works in context or not, it's still (a) a stupid idea (b) a waste of great new character and (c) a played out plot device.

2. The "real" Hawkeye doesn't wallow in self pity. He's a cocky guy who thinks that he is the best hero in the world and who that he is the best person to lead the Avengers. That's the thing that makes Hawkeye cool and likeable (and funny). Hawkeye being a happily married man with kids is NOT Hawkeye, he's generic Hollywood hero 30/40 something cop/soldier action hero.

3. That's because Cap (with the exception of Beta Ray Bill) is the only one in the MU (or MCU) who should be worthy to lift Thor's hammer.
Clearly hasn't read the best Hawkeye comic run. :yay:

Doesn't it kind of defeat the purpose of the need for a team then if one sentient being can literally accomplish anything without breaking a sweat?
Not once daddy Thanos gets there, and rips the Stone from his head.

Your description of Hawkeye seems a bit one dimensional. He has many layers.

lol; true but I meant for the context of this story (Age of Ultron).

Taking down Ultron should be a group effort imho.

Though I just recently read someone mentioning that it was actually a Drone Body (the last remaining one) that Ultron was killed in from Vision and not his Prime body (which SW, IM, and Thor are responsible in having laid a good beating on) so that makes things better.

If anything, I feel like Vision should have had a longer arc in this film where we see him come to an eventual decision to choose a side rather than just waking up and already being a good person.

He almost comes off as a "Deus Ex Machina" plot device.

This

It doesn't make sense to have a character with an infinity stone on Cap's team in CW either
Highly disappointed in how the direction Marvel is going at
Would rather have Vision sacrifice his life to kill Ultron, then bring him back later in future films instead of killing a new character that you know don't have much of a chance to come back compared to a robot

Killing a character then bring him back is way overused in MCU films
but rebuild a robot is seen as different

Does cap gets to show his leadership qualities in aou? Is he the "real"leader this time round?

Does Hawkeye have a new suit at the end?? pls say yes, i hate his shield suit

Clearly I didn't read the "Hawkguy" series because after flipping and skimming through several copies at the comic shop that I used to work at I found it unappealing.

One question!

Do you think, Ultimate Ultron could have solo'd each of the Avengers individually?

I joined in 2005. Looooong time lurker. Decided to join the community for fun.

Given you and Broseph's comments I feel silly lol. I joined the day after google first brought me to the hype lol

Where are you guys directing these questions?

No one is answering them anymore.

I really should've joined way earlier instead of lurking but whatever haha. We are here now!

So what's the deal with the Hulk at the end. Does he commit suicide or what?

Regarding these spoilers...

I am not that broken up about Quicksilver dying. The MCU has plenty of characters and is gonna introduce plenty more in phase 3. We don't really "need" Quicksilver, really.

I am more concerned with how Vision's character arc is handled. So Ultron creates his body (so he can put himself in it) but his personality is Jarvis and is put into that body by the Avengers? So Ultron and Vision are not allies at all? He doesn't turn against Ultron? He's Jarvis with a body basically?

Wow. That all sounds like a waste to me.

All this hype over the character's introduction and his arc seems shallow and makes him seem like an unneeded add on to the story of the movie. Maybe I read it wrong? I don't know but I am not really sure about this.

I wanted to resist this thread, but my curiosity got the better of me. The upside of this is that my expectations have officially been "managed". Still looking forward to seeing the movie and I think everything I've read that I didn't particularly like or was disappointed by will be ok in context.

Can't wait to discuss the movie after seeing it.

The one thing I'm going to dislike no matter what is QS dying. It is just a terrible waste of a character.

Absolutely despise Whedon and his fetish for killing characters off for the sake of killing someone off.

The logic was probaby, "hmm, there's already another Quicksilver at another studio, so I'll kill this one".

Now the the only Quicksilver left will be the one over at Fox that was shoehorned into DOFP after Marvel announced theirs.

As for Scarlet Witch, Whedon was never gonna kill off one of the new female characters.

You never know he might end up in Valhalla in Thor Ragnarok because he fought and died fighting along side Thor.

Cheers to those who posted spoilers. My takeaway from them is that the movie sounds epic in scope with a very credible villain pulling the strings. Looking forward to next week!
