Speaking of problems with the movie - has anyone caught why it is that Vision can float / fly? This seems to be a pretty big hole in the movie.

All of Vision's powers aren't explained at all. The movie goes "this is what he can do, deal with it." He even starts phasing through Ultron bots out of the blue in the middle of the climax.

As I know the character already, I didn't have a problem with that. But I saw the movie 4 times already and each time there are some people who go "WTF was up with that Vision guy"? ^^ They're hella confused.

As someone who hates people being brought back to life, with how little the Twins were utilized I would totally accept QS coming back somehow. Would have to be in IW obviously.

:highfive:

Personally think it could be before, with all the crazy things that could happen in Ragnarok and GotG2.

Which is why Ultron should have made him, and there should have been a birth scene longer and better than the one given. Where Ultron stated what he could do.

Instead Cho made the body and Ultron just mind controlled her to infuse him with Vibranium then added the stone.

So basically Dr Cho made an android which can float and phase through objects. Which is frankly ridiculous.

I hate all these valid criticisms of VISION because he's so fascinating and badass and Paul Bettany kills it from frame one.

He's going to be an excellent addition to the MCU but yeah, botched explanations completely in this film when it comes to VISION.

Well when you put it that way... I have to admit that sucks.

But maybe, I don't know, she was working according to Ultron's instructions? Maybe? The movie doesn't explain jack but it's true that Cho creating Vision and his power out of her machine sounds ludicrous.

Yeah he's awesome, just you know his origin and explanation could/should have been better.

When Thor throws him and he stops himself. I thought he was going to like look and realise he was flying and maybe he was going to say something about it and learn of his abilities. It could have been an extra 1 or 2 minutes.

Also about Thor's power, let's be honest here for anyone who says anything bad about him. Vision is vibranium infused and powered by the mind stone, he jumps at Thor who just casually tosses across the room. I don't think anyone can see Thor is underpowered in this movie.

Oh, they finally showed Thor's power in this film. I've been screaming since his first film that they've been underplaying him. The dude's a God. Use it to your advantage.

It's one of the reasons why the climax in the original Avengers film lost it's bite when THE DARK WORLD's climax was handled by Thor himself. Personally, the climax of that picture trumps the threat level in AVENGERS...and yet Thor took care of that, no problem....

I mean, hell, Thor went up against an Infinite Stone come to think about it in the climax of THE DARK WORLD.

He's powered by the Mind Stone, a power source of limitless potential. Safe to assume that gives Vision his powers

So the Vision is incomplete? That is what I am getting from all this.

He's freaking awesome. It's just how we get to him is a somewhat muddled mess.
I am curious why some think his powers need to be explained. He has the Mind Stone, and they make that clear right? So isn't easy to assume that is the source of his powers?

The only thing they should have done was explain his powers. However Rhode's "what" reaction yo when Vision phased was funny.

Because there's a scene he looks at Thor's cape and then magically, his own cape appears.

That was funny as hell. Hell, just having Rhodey finally there was pure win for me. And in a upgraded War Machine suit no less(F Iron Patriot).

Ugh, I hope he's in CIVIL WAR.

I think all the new Avengers are in Civil War.

We can assume that yeah, given that the Twins apparently got their powers from the Gem as well. But I don't know, it seems a little random at this point. The Gem controls people à la Dr. Cho, or Selvig and Hawkeye in the first film, and also apparently can give you random powers who are in NO relation with the "mind" (except for parts of SW's powers). And also why in the hell would Thanos give an Infinity Gem to Loki in the first place? Makes no sense to me. I still think the Infinity Stones thing they got going is still a little messy.

I'm so glad the Iron Patriot suit was just a temporary moniker and we're back to War Machine.

Who knows though. Maybe Norman Osborn will acquire the Iron Patriot armour somehow.

Do they say he has the Mind Stone? If so, what else needs to be explained? They didn't explain the Power Gem, the Aether or the Tesseract. They never explained the scepter. Why the sudden need to explain what they can't explain?

Yeah he has the mind stone but that cape scene and the scene of him changing his colour was a bit eh for me. He was awesome though.

The cast announcement should come Monday, considering they start shooting on Monday...

Considering Olsen confirmed she's in CW, its safe to assume so are the new Avengers.

So the Vision is incomplete? That is what I am getting from all this.

Basically Cho has this machine which creates synthetic tissue. Ultron controls her using the mind gem to create a body she infuses it with vibranium then Ultron puts in the mind stone. He starts to upload but Wanda reads Ultrons base conscious through 'Vision' which she can't do with Ultron normally, she sees Ultron is planning to wipe out humanity. The Twins leave. On the truck Ultron continues to upload but Avengers attack. So some of Ultron base stuff is in 'Vision's' body. The Avengers capture it and take it to Stark. Who then decides to upload Jarvis. Cap and Tony fight over this, QS pulls the plug on Vision. Mini Avengers can't of battle. Thor arrives finishes booting up Vision. Vision steps out kind of crouches for 5 seconds looks at Thor jumps at him. Thor tosses him across the room. Vision suddenly stops looks outside for 5 seconds then turns around and starts speaking. Couple of minutes of talk where Vision say he is neither Ultron or Jarvis then they go off to fight Ultron.

So you see we really know nothing about how he truly came to be or how he works, Cho seems to have a machine that can create a synthetic body which can fly without propulsion and phase through objects.

We don't really know if Vision is a new AI or if he is a mix of Ultron and Jarvis. We don't really understand what the mind stone is really about, it appears to give Ultron consciousness, Jarvis says he detects code inside the stone so does it give Jarvis conscious or does the mix of Ultron give him conscious.

But he is still pretty awesome and the best new character imo.

Are SW's TK powers explained? The stone basically gives them a random combination of abilities (in Quicksilver's case it's a bit more simple). I quite like the way Vision learns his powers by himself so quickly. Levitation and flight. Then creating (the cape), phasing and then the beams.
