Why would they? Who would think to send them a picture of him?

Yeah, Coulson isn't a public figure. Sure, he walks around openly, same as any other SHIELD or Fed or CIA agent, but it's not like anybody would know who he was other than some kind of cop/g-man, wearing the same kind of generic suit as all the other plainclothes badges around him.

Now, if one of the Avengers happens to spot him, I'm sure there'll be hell to pay. But Coulson clearly understands that they're not supposed to know he "survived," so SHIELD's top agent will definitely make damn sure that he never puts himself in a situation where that could become a possibility.

Don't think my earlier post posted but anyway I enjoyed it I love the Skye character Fitz and Simmons I kinda find them a little annoying I calling it Agent Coulson is a clone or robot

A Life Model Decay, perhaps.

Now that I have had time to think about it even more, the plot of the pilot reminds me a bit too much of the horrid adaptation of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I am still sticking with my rating, but, I am holding onto the hope that the writing will improve with the next episode.

I thought the episode was kinda meh, but Whedon's pilots are usually much weaker than his regular episodes, so I guess I'll stick around for a while.

Liked:
- Imagining American audiences struggling to understand the Scot.
- J. August Richards was excellent as usual. I hope he becomes a regular.
- The hint that there may be more to Coulson's "resurrection". I'm glad the whole thing wasn't reveled right away.
- Grrr Argh!

Disliked:
- The two leads were rather bland. Their casting feels more Dollhouse than Firefly.
- Some of the acting was very stiff *coughColbieSmulderscough*. Brett Dalton, especially, lacks the charisma to play a lead.
- Was I supposed to believe that Skye was some genius hacker living out of a van with her glossy waves? Again, the acting - Hannigan, Acker and Stait were great as cute girl-geniuses, Bennet was more ditz than nerd.
- Actually, I just didn't like the character in general. She reminded me of Darcy from Thor. Very annoying.
- I didn't connect with any of the characters (except Richards' character) and there wasn't much diversity, in terms of personality, which is unusual for a Whedon show.

How so? (I'm surprised that anyone even remember the plot of that movie.)

I didn't really find the pilot episode great but this is the type of the show that could get better in the long run. As a lot of procedural shows are like that and since this show has the sci-fi element, its gonna be an advantage for the show. I also like that this is gonna expand the world of MCU even more. I also like that airplane, I liked the action and I liked the story of the hooded guy.

Though my main problem with the show is the principal cast. I don't like the Grant guy, I felt like he was missing some personality and the two agents that were helping Melinda May were just meh, their first scene made me cringe!

7/10

Wow, I honestly didnt expect to see Cobie in this bc of she's on How I met your Mother on CBS. I expected them to recast Maria Hill if she ever showed up

Why would they recast her if her character is in the same universe as the movie universe and she reprising here role as Hill in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The only character I am disappointed with so far is Maria Hill. I didn't expect her to be in total b**ch mode, but I expected her to be a bit more, well, stricter, professional. I didn't expect her to be someone that draws porcupines on evaluation sheets.

Just seen it. It was all right. I guess my expectations were a little too high because I was disappointed. It just wasn't serious enough for me, though the premise is interesting, the execution is just way off. It looks and feels like a kids show, something you'd find on on a Saturday morning. Remember those shows that used to come on Fox Kids? That's what it feels like to me, like a more serious Power Rangers type show. It was like Spy Kids. A little too kiddy, a little too Disney for me. I hope they get more serious. I just wasn't able to get into the plot at all.

It just feels like I'm the wrong target audience, like I'm not 10 years old.

LOVED it...I thought it was fantastic. The characters all work together very well. The special effects were very impressive for a tv show.

Yeah, didn't get that impression AT ALL.

I think that only the humor can get a bit too much. Tone things down like the Gramsy bit, make Hill more serious, and Coulson, he's perfect as is.

Sadly, I remember it because BBC America has it on at least once a week. :cmad:In LXG, Moriarty was recreating the League members' powers and installing them into his minions.

I know it's a dumb question by now but there's no way Coulson would've ever been a Skrull or introduce the concept of Skrulls here can they?

I'd say the humor is in line with what we've seen in The Avengers. Ie...the Hulk smashing Loki mid sentence. Or Thor being knocked away by Iron Man mid conversation with Loki, etc...

I thought the show's premise was a little reminiscent of Warehouse 13. J August Richards could easily have been wearing an artefact which the agents had to hunt down. However, unlike that show, there isn't a male-female pairing like Pete Lattimer and Myka Bering.

The pilot was okay. I felt that I had already seen too much footage from the previews. I think i'll enjoy the subsequent episodes better because I haven't seen anything. Also a pilot is often different from the actual series in style and some changes are made.

Don't forget, it's supposed to air AGAIN tonight, same time.

The characterization of Hill seems off, for sure. They could have worked that joke into the episode somewhere else, without involving her.

Granted its just a pilot, but they sure seemed to make SHIELD seem like an offbeat and generally positive place. I'm hoping the series takes a look at its darker side, too.

Well I would HOPE somewhere down the line either Gillian Anderson or David Duchovny has a walk on maybe not as Skully and Mulder but just for fun. Like maybe a Halloween show. lol
