How do you know this is the case? How do you know Gotham won't be in the same universe as Arrow? Plus we all know The Flash spinoff will be in the Arrow universe. Sorry your rather broad statement bothered me.

The reports that I have read are that...yes...the Flash tv show is in the same universe as Arrow...but that Flash will be recast for a JLA movie and the tv show storyline will in no way impact the new Flash that will be seen in the movie. That would certainly imply that the tv shows are in a different reality, and that DC is relying on people loving the logos, rather than actually becoming invested in characters.

Arrow is not the same person as Green Arrow from Smallville. Batman in Batman vs Superman is not the same guy that we saw just last year in The Dark Knight Rises. Smallville never happened in the DC cinematic universe.

Again...DC thinks that their logos are all that matter. Marvel is creating characters that we get invested in so much that we will rush out to see new films just because we know they share the same world with characters we love.

WAAATTT!!! Dat ending...

my word, some bad moments in this show, but the blessing everyone of importance is giving it ([blackout]Cobie, Sammy J, Gregg, Whedon[/blackout]) is keeping it alive in my book.

I kinda like the threats so far. Extremis/Chitauri Tech super soldier, dormant Tesseract powered Hydra super weapon. Makes me excited for next week's.

Still working out opinions on all the characters and my overall opinion of the show itself.

Just realized the the object emitting gamma radiation ties back into the "Centipede" having gamma radiation in it as well.

There are a lot of bad actors in the MCU who are using any and everything they know of to create or gain powers. It's a super-arms race, just as it would be in our world if such things were possible. The world is increasingly aware of all of the experimentation that the military and others have been doing, whether with gamma radiation, Extremis, the Super Soldier formula, Chitauri tech or what have you. Most people are afraid of those things, but terrorists, anarchists and criminals want it all. Gamma radiation is just part of a broader problem.

Like RDJ? lol.

I'm thinking that they're more directly connected i.e. the group behind Centipede is the same group behind weapon.

And I posted this in the general thread, but Sam Jackson is freaking awesome. There aren't a lot of movie stars who would "degrade" themselves by going on network television, let alone requesting it, nor go out of their way to do more than they have to and appear in so much stuff, but SLJ does it. It's great they got him as Nick Fury. I honestly can't see anyone else in the role being as awesome at this point. And Fury showing up in it sort of sets the table for other actors too but their tongues and cameo on the show. I mean, if Sam Jackson does it, why not everyone?

Much better episode than the pilot with or without the cameo. I still don't like male muscle of the group & hope one of the two techies gets dropped.

This feels more cohesive than the last episode, and the relationships are better fleshed out, but the problems with the casting haven't disappeared and Ward is still as bland as ever. At least Skye is slightly more tolerable, now that I know she's working for the "big bad" and therefore, possibly leaving by the end of this season (leave me to my fantasies).

The ending was almost Firefly-esque, what with the dramatic music and drinking beers in the sunset, except without the chemistry of the Firefly cast, the moment felt unearned. The scene just ended up being melodramatic.

Every new show goes through a slow start as we get to know the characters, relationships are set, and chemistry between the actors grow. I feel like some of the people complaining about the show have never watched a serial drama before.
I've definately watched a Whedon show though, and the chemistry in his other shows, except Dollhouse, was instant.
Highly unlikely to see RDJ on the show as he simply is too expensive unless of course, he is willing to take a smaller check for a cameo on the show. We have a better shot of seeing Scar Jo or Jeremy Renner as Black Widow and Hawkeye appearing as cameo's.
I'd say we have a better shot at seeing RDJ. The others don't seem like the type to take on projects just for fun.

They just blew out a plane after it got hijacked by evil guys they found in Peru...but it wasn't earned...right

Like I said, they didn't have the chemistry of the Firefly cast to pull off a dramatic scene like that. It was like I was being told that it was an emotional moment but it didn't feel like one. Not plot related at all.

Cool episode,Skye was much better(I found her extremely annoying and a bi... in the pilot
What's wrong with having feelings for both men and women? :o

There is definitely chemistry between some of the actors, I'd even say between most of them. Clark Gregg/Coulson has a great rapport with all of them because he's freaking awesome. Fitz & Simmons were perfectly cast, the actors are talented and they've been written well. Ming-Na is so great you almost don't have to mention her. She just is. Ward improved quite a bit over the first episode and wasn't the hunk of wood I initially took him for. All of the interactions between those five felt organic, whether they were bickering or drinking beer off the hangar door.

Skye is still the sore thumb, only a bit less obviously annoying than in the pilot.

I love how awed the baby agents were by May's badassery. Fitz and Simmons were just .

I enjoyed this one more than the pilot. Im still not 100% sold on the team. I'm just not seeing the chemistry so far...

I'm sure it'll get to that point in due time. But the others have seriously better start learning how to fight.

I dunno, this show is abit cheesy with bad acting. Im not feeling the score either it just feels like something made for kids.

solid episode but I had to rate it weaker than the pilot because of the set pieces. look, I enjoy the hell out of this 90ies feel the show has, the pilot made me very nostalgic, but this week, the episode really looked too cheap. especially the first airport scene, where you clearly saw that the background was just a huge poster on the soundstage wall, but the peruvian set - all 50m2 of it - too.

Do you even know what you are talking about? Many of the scenes were shot on location. Marvel is spending a ton on this show, I know the pilot was very expensive to make, and I am sure this past episode was not cheap. This is TV and it will not get a movie style budget, but what I have seen thus far is amazing...

Not sure why people have to nitpick, especially nitpick about things that aren't true...

I like Simmons the girl techie more than the guy, but why did they have to make them both British?

Coulson...."It's(Tahiti) a magical place."......Hmmmmmmm.....magical?..... a clue perhaps to his miraculous recovery?......Asgard?.......Dr Strange involved somehow?

This episode was better than the pilot, was surprised to see them having so many scenes outsider the plane, must have been expensive, even if it was CGI. Gonna wait till around episode 6 to see if the characters have groun on me.

It definitely was better than the Pilot. The Peru scenes could be a little sharper they still look a little back lot-ish. I'd love this to get just a slightly darker tone.

Skye & Ward are my 2 sore spots and the plot was ok but still seemed like they left out something. Fury did say they've only had the plane for 6 days though so I'm hoping things start to come together.

If Thor's hammer was the last 084, and that's what we're supposed to compare it to, then this should have been a more secure site with some more scientific investigation and security. Hope this doesn't just turn into a team running around to re-capture artifacts and some real multi-episode story arcs start to develop beyond the Coulson mystery that they've sort of been milking.

I'm gonna try to not sound like a dick but here goes.

I have heard no such report that the Flash will be re-cast for the movie and it seems your only really logic is that DC likes Logos over characters, something that is presumptious and flat out your opinion and based in no real world logic at all.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/28639/grant-gustin-is-the-flash-in-arrow

We know that Arrow isn't the same from Smallville, because they said it wouldn't be the same.......Smallville was never connected to the film Universe..ever...so why would that even be brought up?

Batman not being the same Batman is a given as it has been HIGHLY publicized that Nolan's triliogy was its own entity and not connected.

Also your reasoning for why people go and see the Marvel features is again your own opinion, not fact. DC may care about theire respective character shields but so does Marvel, they have literally used the name or had a character named Stark in every movie which kinda proves they care only about certain characters too. I'm really not trying to sound like a dick but your blanket statements are irksome.

Put it in spoilers since it doesnt pertain to this thread but I'd like to continue the conversation.

Absolutely loved it... I loved the pilot, and I loved this episode just as much. Maybe it felt a little contrived that the rest of the team just *happened* to be put in a situation that forced them to set aside their differences and actually work together/use all their strengths/skills to get out of the mess, but I was fine with it, I mean hey, it's tv after all.

Loved Coulson, as always - got to know a little bit more about his past with his interactions with the chick (have to say, minute they ended up on the plane with the rest of the team, I knew that they weren't as nice as they were seeming), and loved the Fury cameo. Feeling I got was that Fury was being relatively tame with Coulson (you know if it had been anyone OTHER than Coulson that their ass would've been SOOOO far gone). Loved the fish-tank moment, loved that Fury asked about Lola too.

As for other cameos, I'm pretty sure that RDJ has expressed interest in appearing, so maybe he won't be as expensive as people are thinking (Tom Hiddleston has also said he'd be game for popping in, so long as the story called for it). So probably won't be regular occuring since cameos aren't the focus of the show, but I could see cameos popping in here and there as nice little surprises now and then.

*going to watch it for a 2nd time now*
