Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD - S02E12 - "Who You Really are"

I'm really hoping they address the Avengers finding out Coulson is alive in AOU. Preferably, not in an offhanded line of 10 second exposition.

I think thats exactly how it will be handled. He's been alive for well over a year now. They know. I dont think we need to see them "find out" nor does any time need to be wasted on it

Stark may know that Coulson is alive. Maria Hill works for Stark...Maria Hill knows Coulson is alive. It is not a stretch to think that she told him.

I'd find it hard to believe that Bobbi and Mack are taking orders from Hydra. In fact, Mack seemed a little disgusted when he mentioned Hyrda in this episode. They are taking orders from someone who is supposed to be a hero, maybe Maria Hill.
Yeah I can see Hill too now that you mention it.

Yeah. When Sif loses her memory and they ask her about Thor she says she can't remember, but the word makes her "smile".

He WAS but I don't know the exact quote as I couldn't hear over the students in the resource center

Cool. Thanks for the info.

Granted, i know it's impossible (at the moment) to get Thor to cameo in a show like this (and they probably shouldn't since the character is just too big to appear on a show like this) but you'd think that they would at least have people mentioning..."Huh, Sif is having memory issues. Shouldn't we go and try to contact Thor for assistance?"

I mean, they had Skye telling Coulson that he should go to Thor for some assistance when they were dealing with the Asgardian Beserker staff from Season 1, but they had a clever enough reason for why they couldn't get him.

Id like to see Pepper punch coulson in the face and then hug him. That would be gratifying enough for me.

Or maybe she is keeping that from Stark and starting the pro-reg initiative while under his employ.

This season is post-TWS, and that was two years after Avengers. And Coulson has never been particularly on this show. He's going out in public and using his real name quite a bit. So it's getting harder and harder to buy the Avengers STILL not knowing. Especially with all of SHIELD's secrets being dumped onto the internet by BW.

When Sif was suffering from amnesia, Coulson (I think) asked her if the name Thor rang any bells. She said that it didn't, but for some reason the word makes her smile and she doesn't know why. Agent May said something like "I have an idea why..."

It just seems like too big a deal to brush away with Stark saying."Oh yeah,Coulson's alive BTW. That was like 3 years ago."

I think everyone would go nuts if Coulson just walked in the room with a shot of their Awestruck faces. There's your after credits tag.No need to explain, everyone's caught up and you can move on from there.

Just as Agent May spoke, my wife blurted out "I know why!". :cmad:

Yeah. With how big a deal they made Coulson's death in Avengers, and him specifically asking Lady Sif NOT to tell Thor that he was alive last season, you cannot just off-handedly mention it. That'd be REALLY cheap.

Especially given on how his death was one of the main catalysts for helping the Avengers unite under one banner in order to take on Loki.

If there's any good time to reveal that Coulson is alive to the Avengers, it should be when Fury makes his somewhat-cameo appearance in AOU, telling the group that he lied about Coulson's death and that if they (the group) are going to stay together then they should do so for the right reasons.

I'm disappointed that Mack doesn't seem to have retained much power from his time as Earth Sentry. I really wanted him to be a soldier in the Civil War.

Wonder if Fury will mention it in AoU?

Given how NEITHER Cap or Tony don't really trust him to begin with, this won't help matters.

A few questions that have popped into my mind. First, remember back to the last episode, Skye's mother was mentioned to be around for "awhile". She said that she will not live forever. Skye's mother seemed to be the person who dealt with all newly transformed inhumans. The "reader?" seemed to have been trained to eventually take over that role. The "reader" had one of the diviners. There should be about 4 to 6 more if the one Whitehall had was destroyed in the shrine. It seems that the inhumans had an organization that had to be operating before 1940. Correct? Whitehall just found out about the diviners in the 1940"s. I wonder where the other diviners are and also about how long an inhuman organization has been active. Also, wouldn't it make sense that there is probably another shrine somewhere in or near China? It seemed that Skye's mom was operating out of China. I can see more transformation coming if need be.

Coulson never died. Fury, Loki and the Avengers pulled a prank on Hill.
Just for the lulz

What's going on with Mack, Bobbi and Hunter?

I have a hard time with Hunter's British accent, and I was interrupted by a phone call

Thank you

The only problem with having the big Coulson appearance is that they already played that card with Fury in TWS. I think they still need to do it though.

What would be cooler still, is if they filmed a special scene while on the set of AOU and inserted it into one of the episodes. Something along the length of the Fury tag about the bus at the beginning of the first season.

I have a better solution...never, ever feature Coulson in a movie again. His presence means that you stop the plot of the film to explain what a portion of the audience already knows.
