Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD - S02E14 - "Love in the Time of Hydra"

I was gonna try and defend Nu SHEILD, but I rewatched the 'alright, indoctrinate away' section (I do love Hunter) and decided they are just ridiculous.

I'm still waiting for Skye to become awesome (with her powers, I mean; I already love her character).

Ward is just the worst in the very best way. Agent 33 was a little pathetic to start with, but I liked how she grew into herself a little.

Urgh, Mack, you are f***ing all of Bobbi's s*** up. Who sends the best spy they have on a mission and teams her up with the worst liar ever? Nu SHEILD! (cue theme song)

I like how conflicted Bobbi seems.

The FitzSimmons conflict continues to entertain me.

Overall, loved the episode and had pretty much nothing to complain about.

Since they mentioned that some things from Agent Carter of shield will be going towards Agents of Shield could Olmos' character be Daniel Sousa?? its my initial reaction when I first saw him even tho he was called a different name.

Edward James Olmos' character seriously reminds me of Lotso Huggin' Bear from Toy Story 3, complete with cane. I wonder if he smells like strawberries too? I think he's going to give Hunter over to the toddlers! I guess that makes Mockingbird his Ken doll?

Good episode, a step up from last week's actually. Loving all the clandestine, trade craft type stuff.

8/10

Still not nearly old enough.

Been a while since I watched BSG, but the 'brig' comment seemed like a reference (to the board game as much as the show :) )

This episode will be a nightmare for the Ward Warriors, he's now a manipulative son of a B**h like his master. AND I LOVE HIM.

Awesome episode.
Nice to have Ward back. :yay:
I liked the real Shield, nice to see Ramse from 12 monkeys.
Like the real shield, May's ex also told us that Shield hadn't change with Coulson in charge.

With his index, putting Skye in the prison in the woods, it's Coulson who look like someone for the gifted registration.

I just watched the episode after coming home from work. not sure NuSHIELD is TruSHIELD. Their 'transparancy' mantra is kinda strange, with them being an espionage agency operating from the shadows and infiltrating Coulson's SHIELD which is way more in the open right now than they are

I must admit that I find the Nu-SHIELD to be weak at the moment. Not that there are many established cinematic universe characters left, but it's Agent Weaver (so, a very minor character) and a bunch of scrubs. I don't believe for half a second that they pose any threat at all to our SHIELD, and more than likely Bobbi and Mack will switch sides again before its all said and done. I wouldn't be surprised if Simmons was loyal to her teacher...in fact I'm kind of surprised that it hasn't already been covered (maybe Bobbi is a triple agent, working with Nu-SHIELD only to find out who the real moles are in our SHIELD...eh...doubt it).

Speaking of Agent Weaver, I wonder if a rewatch of her season 1 episodes will give us more info that we didnt catch the first time. Wasn't the university under siege by Hydra the last we saw her?

think the only way bobbi is a triple agent is if she is working for furry or the avengers.

initially coulson went after the Obelisk independently of the alien stuff, it was skye that first copped the connection. Hydra where attemting to weaonise it and had some sucess, that narrative that he was compromised in persueing it does not stand. So have to wonder why she is going along with it

For me, I think it's more about transparency in their organization, of course they will lie to their ennemies since they are spies.
Like Coulson not telling to Fitz about where he put Skye.

Pretty decent episode setting some things up. The best things about this episode were Talbot and Ward. Pasdar does a great job with this character showing a bit of humor for what appeared to be a straight-laced role, I think a Talbot/Coulson-centric episode would be great. The creative staff on this show have simply done an amazing job with Ward and kudos to Brett Dalton for playing this character with so many layers. I never really feel like I know what Ward's endgame is and that is great fun. Having him out there in the MCU not really being a villain but certainly not being a hero creates some nice stories.

Took a screencap of Coulson looking through the safehouses.

Apparently Shield has Thunderclap in custody :wow: :woot:

You can also definitely see here waves and that that they are cruising in water there. It looks to me more like a normal aircraft carrier but who knows.

Yeah no. I prefer to do as much as possible paying as little money as possible. Buying a DVD is just too easy and too conventional for me. :drl:
It's actually not all THAT bad. still need o find a copy myself

I can't say I agree about Skye. Coulson didn't put her in a cage, he put her out in the woods far from other people and basically said "Practice and become awesome". I'm not gonna try and defend his Fury level secret keeping though, that's dumb as balls.

I still have serious doubts about Simmons. Didn't trust her at the beginning of Season 2, still don't. I also question those gloves she made for Skye. Simmons wants to "cure" Skye. I'm betting that once on, she can't remove them and they cause a problem that Fitz has to fix. Could Simmons have been brainwashed by Whitehall? He did call her into his office earlier and we never saw why. If not, then I suspect she might be a sleeper for "real SHIELD". (seriously guys, you couldn't come up with a better name?)

Still doesn't mean the wings aren't submerged like they were in Avengers :more: if you look close enough, there looks like there are TWO wakes, about where the wings might be.

Real shield seem to be of the opinion that Furry is dead. None of them are worthy to be in the circle of trust, it appears.
Not surprising, I think it was in that last episode last season that it was mentioned the number of people Fury trusted could be counted on one hand (and he's not afraid to cut off fingers)
We know from the trailers that Fury will be in AOU so this question should be answered. You have to figure by May 1 everything pays off. I might be mistaken but aren't there only 2 eps after Ultron? So we get the big story with AOU and clean up anything left over from the movie the next week. The following week would set up next season.

Hopefully we get some Agent Carter next season too.
To be technical, 3 episodes air after AOU (by my count). eps 20, 21 & 22

So where he took Skye is labelled "The Homestead". Looks like there's also "The Red Door"? As for "Thunderclap" given that the title of what he's looking at is "Fortified SHIELD installations" my guess is (in this case) Thunderclap is a place and not the person from the comics? *updates my list if SHIELD facilities*

Yeah, my vote (at the moment) is aircraft carrier and not a helicarrier. Could be wrong though.

As for the episode in general. Loved it... loved the return of Ward and Agent 33. Loved the exchange between Fitz and Simmons and I agree with everything Fitz said. Simmons is kind of pissing me off at the moment. Was glad Hunter responded the way he did to nu!SHIELD and agree with everyone here, their "open and transparent policy" spiel was total B.S. Coulson's SHIELD is more in the open than they are. Loved the scenes between Coulson and Skye.

Next week should be interesting.

If I remember right, the gloves were to prevent further damage to Skye's arms. I still have my doubts about Simmons too. Just not sure what yet. lol

Quite possibly some of the worst writing the show has given us, not to mention a complete borefest this week. I absolutely adore the show, but my god....

BTW, for those interested - regarding the twizzler scene (apologies if this was already posted)
Chloe Bennet @ChloeBennet4

Fun fact: the take where @clarkgregg and I eat the twizzler at the same time was an actual accident. Super cuteeee.
