SEASON 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Son of a Coul they did it :D Thrilled by that news, the show has gone from strength to strength and they can now really build towards Age of Ultron and the future of SHIELD. Hopefully Ep22 lays some groundwork for that. Exciting times and I hope AoS continues to be a pivotal part of the MCU [blackout]and now Tripp can stay on the team![/blackout]

And the Agent Carter news is fantastic! Great way to explore the origins of SHIELD, plus Hayley Atwell :hrt: and potentially Dominic Cooper! Think there is a lot of potential for crossover over the mid-season break, and we can explore things like Tripp's legacy, and the Howling Commandos post-Cap :)

Season 2
but... well..maybe they can take seriously few of the Steranko's suggestions...like the choreograph...

Great to have season 2 officially confirmed. And great news about Agent Carter as well! I hope they stick to the mid-season break filler, and don't try to stretch it out.

As others have said, I hope we get some great supporting characters, like Howling Commando appearances. I also hope this leads to future seasons in different decades (i think the writers said they were keen on that idea, too), or even future MCU spin-off shows that are not Agent Carter centric (like a young pym miniseries if the movie creates the opportunity for such a thing). All around great news, which will leave us plenty to speculate about for another year!

Is Derek Luke's character Triplet's grandfather or someone else?
I'm guessing his grandfather will definitely have a big part in the new show.

no, its nick fury who went back in time to change the past by using vision's matter phasing powers to phase through time.. oh wait, isnt that some other movie plot? :o

Great news indeed... you know what this means.. i will be pestering you and others for updates during live episodes for 22 + 13? weeks.. apologies in advance :yay::cwink::o

Good news about Agent Carter & they can always mix the two shows together with Time Travel

Would be cool if there are some flashback episodes to the time of CA:TFA and all the battles we never saw. Would be a great way to get Chris Evans onboard.

Honest question: I've been reading that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has gotten a lot better lately. How true is that? Should I get back on board? (I stopped watching after episode 5).

Totally. From the episode 12 and especially after the episode 17 it's defenely another TV show, nothing in common with the first 10 episodes

Episode 13 is where things start to get better

It's really good! I was gonna stop watching but it improved greatly since TWS.

honestly, everyone who gave up on this show that early deserves not to find out how great it is now. :o

Ha! :woot: Well, I don't live in the US, so the show came here in my country a couple of months after it's original air date, so I downloaded the first episodes because I wanted to see how was it. After that, I stopped downloading, and I don't even know where or when it's airing in here, so there's that too.

I would argue episode 11 is where it starts to get better, which is right where the second half starts. Then around episode 15 or 16 (when the TWS tie-ins start), that's when it just explodes. That's when the SHIELD of the show finally feels exactly like the SHIELD from the movies IMO.

If you come back do so with realistic expectations. Forum fanboys can be hyperbolic. The show is better but it's still just okay, IMO.

I loved this weeks ep, the back story on Ward was great but man I hoped for a moment that there was still a chance for him. :( There's no footage of Fitz and Simmons in the promo for the finale but they'll obviously survive their dip in the Ocean.

The first 15 minutes was classic Whedon, with Coulson and Triplet nerding out over the latters Grandfathers Howling Commandos spy gear, and then the scene of May and Coulson infiltrating Cybertek with Fitz and Simmons in their ear feeding them scientific bickering. :D

Things are set up well for the finale.

The whole bit with Triplet being the grandson of a Howling Commando is just another example of what makes this show so dang good. I love the nods to the greater MCU while still maintaining a cohesive, singular compelling narrative within the show itself.
For all the crap the show has gotten, it's undeniably made insanely impressive strides. It's one of my favorite things on television right now.

This site has an article outlining the episodes you should watch to catch up.

Obviously I would say watch them all :cwink:
But in reality from Episode 13 onward - 13, 14, 15 (optional) then ALL from 16 - Finale

The standard has improved, but it helps if you also know what went down in Captain America The Winter Soldier.

HTH

Liz Henstridge (Simmons) will be on Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson tonight.

SHIELD were targeting people that they deemed POTENTIAL threats. Captain America's point was that it isn't right to keep the world safe through fear. If people are afraid to question SHIELD, then we aren't free.

this

And I'll bet you ten bucks none of those potential threats were the POTUS, Avengers or their own personnel.

did this guy NOT watch TWS? or the Avengers? They made a point of
showing President Ellis and Tony Stark as targets of the algorithm, as well as name dropping Stephen Strange and Banner
. Hell in the Avengers BW even says they were all on the SHIELD threat watch. Great foreshadowing.
