I'm not certain Peggy married a Howling Commando in the MCU.
Note: the following is just my personal opinion (and I admit I could end up being wrong)

Someone in the CA:TWS forum mentioned that in the "Art of" book it's revealed that they were originally planning on starting TWS with a WWII flashback to reintroduce Cap and Bucky but that they opted not to as they realized that information was, essentially, going to be rehashed later during the Smithsonian scene and so that didn't make it past storyboarding with them instead just throwing the audience into the modern world with Cap at the beginning.

So I think the "difficult winter" that Peggy is talking about in her 1953 footage at the Smithsonian is what that flashback sequence would've been (given the concept art). In her interview footage she says "That was a difficult winter, a blizzard had trapped half our battalion behind the German line. Steve.... Captain Rogers, he fought his way through a HYDRA blockade that had pinned our allies down for months. He saved over 1,000 men, including the man who would become my husband, as it turned out."

Now, maybe it's just me, but the impression I got in TFA was that the Howling Commandos were pretty much always with Cap, if that's the case and that they were not part of the 'trapped battalion' then Peggy's husband wouldn't be an HC but instead some unknown soldier in the trapped battalion?

And that probably doesn't make sense (I've got middle of the week brain.... is it the weekend yet? :oldrazz:)

I don't think she did marry in the MCU. I think she went from the SSR in First Avenger then to Stark's SHIELD in the Agent Carter one-shot and was too busy from the way it sounded in Winter Soldier

But we know she married in the MCU, she says as much in her Smithsonian interview footage:

"That was a difficult winter, a blizzard had trapped half our battalion behind the German line. Steve.... Captain Rogers, he fought his way through a HYDRA blockade that had pinned our allies down for months. He saved over 1,000 men, including the man who would become my husband, as it turned out."

That interview was in 1953 - so less than 10 years after Steve 'died' (disappeared)

;)

I'm just saying I don't think it was a Howling Commando (like I believe it is in the comics?) and was instead some unnamed soldier

It's got to be a Commando though surely? They wouldn't marry Peggy to some nobody plus it's got to be someone she would have kept in touch with after the war.

Unless after Cap went down a random soldier saw his chance

Yeah it sounds more like an after thought. Like she didn't know the man until later and found out cap saved him too.

Peggy's family already has Sharon. They don't need another hero

Not related to anything but
Have any of you guys been on shield forums on television without pity?
I swear , their hate ***** for Skye is rock solid.
It's unbelievably ridiculous

Isn't Cybertek seen on the trucks of some Age of Ultron set photos?

Only a few episodes left. Who here thinks they aren't going to wrap up the Skye 084 mystery this season? I have this nagging feeling it is going to be drawn out with all the stuff going on right now we haven't really heard anything about it. They did say they wanted to leave season 1 on a cliffhanger in an interview.

The Son of Coul in a plaid shirt and a sweater/cardigan?!? That just seems so....so....... wrong

:oldrazz:

Did Phil raid Fitz's wardrobe?

(Also, I guess this episode gives a good excuse for Gregg to wear the glasses he sports in real life.)
