Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD TV series for ABC - General Discussion - LEVEL 11 - Part 10

Wow I’m shocked. Never thought ratings were that great to begin with and with Coulson in semi-retirement I assumed this season would be the last. Makes me wonder if they already have some big creative things planned.

Something strange at ABC. The ex episode being replaced by FreeForm

That friday night slot is big with the cult fanbase. Look at ZNation and dynasty.

How are they going to stretch this out for 2 more seasons if they were getting rid of Coulson?

Shouldn't they wait until the end of Season 6 to see if they want to renew it? Otherwise why didn't they renew for Season 6 when it was only the end of Season 4? It does not compute.

It may not be because of great ratings which I doubt it has. A year or two ago it was reported/rumored that ABC wanted to cancel it, but Disney forced them to renew the show.

Wasn't season 6 announced as being a half season 0f 13 episodes? If so....wonder how long season 7 is going to be?

**EDIT**Just read that season 7 will be 13 episodes like season 6.

There is an analysis came out recently showing this is the most watched Marvel show thanks to delayed viewings. And it did also quite well even compared to other network shows. It also has quite a decent international fans base as well. Also it has now enough episodes to go into off network syndication after 5 seasons so it could make some money there.

I suspect Disney might have asked ABC if it wants to pick up after 6th season or it will redevelop it on its new streaming service and all things considered including the cast option coming to an end, ABC signed up for another one in a hurry to see how it goes. Or Disney might have also forced ABC to do 7th as a bridge season before migrating and revamping it for the streaming service.

Coulson hasn't been the lead for a minute. Chloe Bennett is pretty much the face of the show now.

Very surprised it's getting a season 7. It must integrate more into the MCU for it to survive.

At seven season the little show that did, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is up with Star Trek TNG and DS9 and has surpassed most shows. Everyone involved should get a well done.

I'm surprised too seeing as people weren't sure it would get a second season, or a third... or a sixth. Now it's seven and maybe even beyond that.

I think it is safe to say no Marvel show will ever last as long as AoS has/will.

I wouldn’t be so sure. The first few seasons weren’t great because it tried to. Once they stopped worrying about having a stronger connection, they had more creative freedom.

Although I do hate they did a storyline with the Kree. They should have been saved for the Captain Marvel movie.

I'm surprised no one on this sub-forum has pointed out that in the second Captain Marvel trailer she appears to have been injected with Kree blood. I wonder if this will be the first influence the show has had on the films? Seems a little too coincidental not to be.

I remember the Alien Nation TV series where they made a point of having different classes and religions among the Newcomers/Tenctonese. Transferred to the Kree on Agents of SHIELD we have seen them stand toe to toe with Lady Sif of Asgard and watch a wounded Agent May tear through mercenary guards. Whatever Captain Marvel shows us just head canon away how their Kree, being a star faring race is different than how AoS's three Kree's who came to earth or the Lighthouse slave holders are different then specific characters like Ronan.

I can write it off as the Kree we saw in AoS are not part of the Kree military. So them not being as strong is excusable, but I do agree in general the Kree on AoS were weak as hell.

Season 6 trailer is here!

'Agents of SHIELD' Season 6 Trailer Released

That's a pretty good trailer. I've always thought that AoS does an outstanding job with VFX that is about as close as you are going to get to movie-quality from a TV show. This season looks to be no exception.

Guess at some point I should finish watching the back half of season 5 (we have too many shows that we watch)

It looks OK. Very disappointed by the ending though (and the atrocities committed against Jemmas hair).

I hope it's Skrullson or something similar.
It's actually Jemma's best hair yet, but it's funny how her hair is now darker than Daisy's.

They blow their budget depending on where in the timeline the episode is usually.

A Skrullson would be a good idea and would be a logical follow-up to his appearance in Capt. Marvel.

There's also been theories I've heard before that Davis was killed by Aida/Ophelia and replaced by either an LMD or Skrull before Deathlok got him. But that may just be crazy talk.
