Didn't see that coming!

Between Mockingbird, the Absorbing Man, Lucy Lawless and Kyle McLachlan, I might actually be excited about this season.

I really hope that's not what he's wearing as the Absorbing Man. He needs either an orange prison jumpsuit or the stripey trousers from the old-style prison suits.

I could see blizzard, gravitation, and The Absorbing Man join force at some point against SHIELD and allies

Awesome.

The comic Graviton could kick SHIELD and The Avengers ass without needing Blizzard or The Absorbing Man

Absorbing Man was also a match for the Avengers as well as Hulk and Thor separately. And I agree that Graviton was much more powerful in the comics. I don't know how the agents of SHIELD are going to take on Absorbing Man unless they seriously downgrade him as well.

they would have to seriously downgrade Graviton as they don't have anyone with any super powers.

Now they have Mockingbird, they could get her to do the same thing she did in West Coast Avengers. She could drug him by slipping something into his champagne. That's the only way they were able to beat him.

I also realised that we're now two members short of having the classic line up of the West Coast Avengers in the MCU. We need Wonder Man and Tigra.

These big super villains don't have to be taken down by a big fight scene. There's other ways

Coulson, Frtiz, Simmons, Tripplet took down Blackout without much of a fight

Since we likely won't be getting a Iron Man 4 who knows in a few years that could change but I think it would be awesome if they touch on the ending to hail to the king and introduce the real Mandrian in Agents of Shield. Now people may say the only reason they made Hail to the King was to satisfy Marvel fans that a real Mandrian is out there. but think about this the Mandrian would be a interesting big bad in the shadow pulling the strings for the Agents of shield. I know its to much to hope for but I would love to see it.

They can come up with some sort of trap and have Fitzsimmons create a gizmo to contain or trap Graviton.

Agent's of Shield should be about these agents coming up against threats completely out of there league and finding a way to defeat them.

Are FitzSimmons more geniuses than Tony Stark? How come he couldn't figure out a way to beat Graviton or Absorbing Man all by himself in the comics?

And I thought Fitz is incapacitated in the 2nd season anyway, possibly brain damaged.

maybe he's not been arrested yet? the orange pants seem probable eventually

I have to say I was never super fond of the orange pants. I don't know if he ever wore that apart from the Hulk Classics Absorbing Man figure:

But I don't think they do stripey prison jumpsuits anymore, do they?

I swear i have a few comics of him wearing orange.. and no, no they don't wear striped prison pants anymore

Maybe he changed his pants after escaping his fridge a few months ago?

I'm not sure if the reason he always wears the same pants is that they were the ones he was wearing when he first gained the absorbing abilities. So maybe they're the only ones that behave in a particular way (eg unstable molecules or something). I know he had the ball and chain when he first gained his powers.

But I could be wrong. He might be able to wear any clothing.

So that dude with the painted arm on the set was the Absorbing Man then?

This is great news I love Absorbing Man as a character, & it looks to be pretty decent casting. He needs his ball and chain though, otherwise its like Wolverine without his claws for me. I suppose he could always get it later though.

For example.

Crusher Creel comes into contact with something Asgardian left behind by Loki that grants him the powers to absorb. However, he hasn't really learned entirely how to use these new found powers yet (absorbing things sometimes unintentionally), which ultimately leads to his defeat by the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Then later maybe in a movie or another TV series he reappears in prison with his shirt off with striped prison pants, and due to his special powers he is found shackled in a small side courtyard, away from other in mates surrounded by several specially made metal Ball and Chains designed to resist his absorbing abilities. There he stays plotting his revenge trying to hone his skills of absorption on the metal alloy that resists it, until he one day perfects it and absorbs this metal alloy into his body and he breaks free of the several ball and chains that have held him captive. As a souvenir and as a constant reminder of what he has gone through he takes one of these large alloy ball and chains to use as his permanent weapon of revenge.

Or something like that. Just trying to have fun with it. Of course if something like this was to happen, fans (including myself) might be disappointed with the initial treatment of the character not realizing that there is more to come in a future episode that brings his weapon into play, and that his origin is kind of 2 fold. Anyways, just some thoughts.

I get the feeling it will probably be an origin story for him and he'll just be a random criminal who doesn't have absorbing powers yet. Then at the end of the episode he'll get stuck in prison and shackled with a ball and chain. Then he'll somehow gain his powers via some other means while still wearing the ball and chain. It will be a tease, like Graviton and Blizzard were.

But I'm fed up of seeing these teases. I want a full on Absorbing Man early on instead of having to go through a whole episode of SHIELD just fighting Crusher Creel.

Maybe, but we have already seen the blue paint on his arm in one of the set photos indicating that he has his absorbing powers before prison. Unless it of course starts with his escape from prison (Maybe the Fridge) rather then ends up with him in prison. All I know is I want the signature ball and chain and I'll be happy. lol
