Wasn't that a skrull posing as Black Bolt in that story though?
When super skrulls are killed, they revert back to their original form.

I don't know if this has been brought up before, regarding Talbot, probably has, but... (potential spoiler warning)
I think Glenn Talbot was killed by HYDRA in the episode where HYDRA impersonated S.H.I.E.L.D. We saw that disc thing flying towards him and then the camera cut away. Next time we see him, he trusts Coulson. It seemed too fast for me. It would also give them a way to bring Carl Creel back into the picture, because Glenn Talbot has access to him.
They can show him before he was in prison before he was captured. Or Peggy could interrogate him if he is captured and try to find out more.
To add to this post of mine.... let's throw the sister into the question as well (Season 1 Episode 19 "The Only Light in the Darkness", Koenig asks Ward to list his immediate family, Ward's response "Two parents, a sister, two brothers.")

Skye's mom's vivisection was disturbing. I was surprised we saw something that graphic on this show. Nobody can claim they're holding their punches now.
I was a bit confused by what Whitehall actually did to de-age. Did he take the lady's organs and implant them on himself, or just bodily fluids?... that guy is truly sick. Love it.
This episode was excellent. It's going to be a long wait once they go on hiatus.
I wonder if Skye is actually Ward's sister?![]()
How did the scene in question not further the plot? "How is Whitehall still young?" is a real question. "What is Skye's mom and how is she not aging?" is a real question. Would you react differently if Whitehall were performing a rather gruesome looking surgery to save someone's life? I found showing Coulson's exposed brain while he's screaming "let me die" more unsettling than what they showed last night but by your own admission you were ok with that. Is your problem context related rather than gore related?
Incest is more objectionable than the surgery (not that his is possible considering Ward's daddy is not Skye's daddy)

The fact that Red Skull and Captain America are spoken of as historical figures in the MCU as if they were someone like the Red Baron or Nathan Hale makes me smile.

That Talbot was a Hydra agent using the face switcher mask thingy, not the real Talbot. Although they still could have killed him and switched him out with another agent
Short run for Tim Dekay, Ward is cleaning house it seems, but I wonder if he's getting his mole on again, very hard to tell with him. I also liked the way they did the time passing flashbacks with Whitehall.
So is Dichen Lachman Skye's Mom?
I also wonder what exactly Bobbi is up to, really liking her addition to the show though.
I also enjoyed the mentions of The Red Skull and how certain they were that he's dead.......I wonder.......
Looking at next weeks promo my first thought was "Madame Masque?"![]()

I lurk nearly every day, but post infrequently.
That being said, I usually watch this show with my kid, but after the "surgery" scene yesterday, I'm going to preview them from now on. That was just appalling. I have never seen anything that gruesome on network TV before. I can expect it from Game of Thrones or something like that on cable, but this is a show that is a quasi-kid's show. I am extremely disappointed. I mean, I could go along with the Coulson brain surgery or the gory alien, since it furthered the plot, but this just seemed to be ridiculous.

I disagree.
It was edgy and disturbing but it illustrated the lengths to which this now elderly but still extremely dangerous evil man would go to unlock the secret to possible immortality. It wasn't pretty but it was compelling television and I think the show shouldn't shrink from moments like that.
As for watching with your child, I hope he/she wasn't too badly shaken up. I liken it to watching the X-Files with your child. Some episodes are more appropriate for that than others and while several are fine, there are definitely some that, depending on age/maturity level, shouldn't be viewed by children.
You're still gonna watch the next episode, right?![]()
