In the US do you not have a warning before films/tv shows if there is sex/violence or scenes that some viewers may find disturbing?

I know you don't have a 21:00 watershed like Britain, but a warning would be pretty easy for broadcasters.

We do, and we have a rating system, this episode was rated more adult than the last episode

A nice warning would let me know on certain episodes ahead of time.
That's what the TV Rating is there for. Again, this one was TV-14-V indicating that the violence in the episode might not be appropriate for those under that age and that parents should be cautioned.

Thanks. Anyway, personally I like the fact that it has grown up some. The last couple of episodes have been the best for me. Hope it carries on.

So do I. The kiddies get cartoons, I don't want my stuff watered down just because they might stay up past bedtime.

Our rating system here in the US is meaningless. Pride and Prejudice, the Colin Firth version, is seriously rated TV-14. I've also seen episodes of Home Improvement, Rhoda, The Bob Newhart Show and The Dick Van Dyke Show rated TV-14 at times. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was rated TV-PG last I saw it. I have no idea what the criteria is that they use for ratings, but it's obviously garbage. I generally ignore it because it's usually very wrong.

Eh usually they're not. Cant really cry fowl if you choose to ignore it and when they're accurate, complain. Its the old phrase "better safe than sorry"

So what is Skye's mother? I read something about Eternals, but I have zero idea what they are, but they seem to be linked in with the Kree/Inhumans and would explain Whitehall suddenly deaging... Or is long-lige an Inhuman trait?

Something isn't adding up here

She's either an Inhuman or an Eternal we don't know for sure just yet.

This show needs a rating. Think of the children!

Errrr, it was rated, and given a stronger one for this episode.

I ignored that one. My poor kids!

Does not compute.

Do the Eternals have any significant comic book characters like the Inhumans do?

Nailed it. Its sorta like spilling coffee on your lap and blaming the restaurant for getting burnt.

Thanos
Eros and Sersi were both Avengers. It has been a long time since I read comics so others might know more.

They're perfectly serviceable. You can't write them in stone as no one will ever be able to agree on what and what not should be covered. They're guidelines to be used as a starting point for determining appropriate content for your particular situation.

TV-14 is pretty clear:

This program contains some material that many parents would find unsuitable for children under 14 years of age.

The FCC warns that "Parents are cautioned to exercise some care in monitoring this program and are cautioned against letting children under the age of 14 watch unattended."

I just checked: Thanos and Starfox, a character whom a lot of people are suggesting as the MCU version of Peter Quill's father for GOTG 2.
Star Fox? As in "do a barrel roll" Star Fox? :funny:

Thanos is an eternal? Two questions - what the heck is an eternal, and how could Skye's mother possibly be one? She's not blue and massive?

$(NUMBER) of years ago, $(ALIENS) experimented on $(GROUP), creating the $(NEW_GROUP).

NUMBER=Millions;
ALIENS=Celestials;
GROUP=Early Protohumans;
NEW_GROUP=Eternals & Deviants;

NUMBER=Thousands;
ALIENS=Kree;
GROUP=Early Humans;
NEW_GROUP=Inhuamns;

Eternals living on Earth have posed as gods, and defended humanity from Deviants. There are also Eternals living on Uranus and Titan. The later are also known as Titans, and include such legendary figures as Mentor, Starfox (Quill's dad?), and Thanos. The Kree's experiments were inspired by the Celestials' much earlier experiments, after they captured an Eternal spaceship.

Wikipedia describes average Inhuman lifespan as 150 years.

EDIT: Wow... massively ninja'd LOL! :D
