We have to compliment the artist on their foresight by painting a picture of her 6 or so years before the show started. :woot:

I'll try to tell him that next time I see him

Yeah, his line about "looking your enemy in the eye" combined with the look that he gave Whitehall, combined with the immediate transition into the flashback of him finding his wife's body. Yeah, he definitely knows that it was Whitehall. The real question is if Whitehall suspects that Skye's daddy might be up to something? You could read his reaction to Skye-dad's comment in a number of different ways.

I have seen all the episodes to date, but with it arriving on Netflix I thought it might be interesting to go back through it and see what kind of seeds or forshadowing may have been introduced earlier on in the series. Perhaps some may be intentional while others may not, but I found the connections interesting all the same. I am on Episode 5 of season 1 and this is what I found, so far. I apologize if any of this has been previously posted.

1. In episode 1, Skye calls Ward evil amongst other things. Even though this may not have been used as forshadowing, she couldn't have been more right in relationship to using that word to describe him.

2. In episode 1, Ward ask's Skye what her real name is. Once again not sure it was any sort of foreshadowing, but the fact that season 2 so far has a lot to do with the mysteries of who Skye is, well lets just say I find this early seed interesting.

In Episode 2, Skye is compared to an 084, an object of unknown origin, which once again is a major thing being rolled out over season 2.

Finally my favorite so far. In episode 4, after Ward enters the room after he is suppose to seduce the guard. He is told to take a picture of the chalk board. Well the image on the chalk board is of a bunch of circles and interconnected lines similar to the ones Coulson and others started carving of the city. Is it possible they were planting seeds related to the city way back as early as Season 1 episode 4.

I can't wait to rewatch the rest as I am seeing everything now with a whole different set of eyes. It's like a scavenger hunt. lol!

Is it up on netflix already? I didn't think that was happening for another week.

I also rewatched the first season after it was over and noticed a few things. After Skye was shot by Quinn, Coulson tells Garrett(who was not yet revealed to be the Clairvoyant) who responds in surprise by saying "He actually did it?" and then said "he usually pays other people to do his dirty work"

Not to mention the fact that a lot of Ward's actions in the early episodes can now be seen in a different light given that we now know how much of a scumbag he really is.

These kind of "boomerang" lines (you throw them out there, and they come back to you in the end) are classic Whedon style. Basically, any time you hear what seems to be an out-of-place throw-away line, you should assume it was almost certainly planted there as a future reference. It's like when Cap bets Fury that nothing would surprise him, only to later pay-up when the helicarrier lifts off.

I do remember noticing last year how Skye had been compared to an 084 before we knew that she actually was an 084, but I missed Ward being called evil -- good catch!

As for major plot points, like Skye's true name, or the alien map (and yes, the chalkboard was part of the alien map) -- I think most of us clued in on those immediately, as being major mysteries, and we've been waiting for the reveals. It's not like they came in this season and said... "Gee, we need to figure out what this writing is that we've been showing since the beginning of last season." It's pretty obvious that they knew what it was intended to be when they first threw it in there, and they were just bringing us along for the slow-burn discovery.

Yeah, I found it by doing a search and then added it to my queue, after not finding it amongst the many lists.

Now THAT'S an intriguing picture! Seems like they won't be shying away from showing us non-human looking inhumans after all!

They added season 1 to Netflix. Now I can finally watch this. Pretty stoked.

That's Kyle Maclachlan!

can't really tell the hell it is.

Hmmm...that picture doesn't necessarily suggest that guy's playing a person/creature. Based on my many years of watching blu-ray special features, it seems like usually in those cases involving CG-enhanced characters, he'd have marker dots all over him. When people are dressed all in green during greenscreen work, it tends to be because they are supposed to be invisible and will just be manipulating props or something.

Maybe the marker dots are inside the costume, I don't know.

That green screen costume could potentially be used to have someone go invisible.

edit: (flickchick beat me to it)

That would be sweet if they had a Kree Sentry guarding the city.

Feige has been on record dismissing the possibility of the twins being Inhumans, but I wonder how much of that is him trying to cover up potential spoilers. It's an odd timing for AoS to be introducing the Inhumans with their movie being three years away, the only reason I can come up with is precisely QS and SW being reimagined as that. We'll see.

I couldn't agree with this statement more. I mean as excited as I am with the possibilities of it being Attilian or a city connected to the Inhumans movie in some way. The fact that the movie is about 3 years away I think it is far too long for them to be dragging out a connection of this importance. If they make a connection 6 months before the release of the Inhumans movie both the show and the Movie will feed better off one another and they can build fans into a frenzy with anticipation. However, 3 years of anticipation will either make most people loose interest or most people might not even make the connection. I know this show is a slow burn and I am a patient person, but most people are not. Which is why I think it is more probable it is the Eternals. This would allow the show the ability to explore the city and it's characters unrestrained by concerns of we are showing too much or too little. Also, it would allow them a good opportunity to make a connection to the Inhumans movie later on.

As for Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver. It is my belief they will be Inhumans, but in AOU they probably will not explore their backstory too greatly (similar to what they did for Black Widow) and they will use their backstories a little bit at a time over the next few years to build excitement and a larger connection with the Inhumans movie.

Didn't Skye's dad tell Raina something about Whitehall tearing her (Raina) apart?

At the time, I took it to mean that Whitehall would kill her for not obtaining the obelisk for him, but in light of what we know he did to Skye's mother, that paints his statement in a different light.

Just something that popped into my head reading the foreshadowing/callback post.

The Doctor also called Whitehall a butcher in that episode. Who knew he meant that literally?
