I certainly hope that Skye and Ward aren't as annoying in the whole episode as they were in those clips. Skye's "organization" seems like it's just her in a trashy van doing the pirate radio bit. There must be more to it than that if Coulson wanted to recruit her. Ward has a bit of an attitude for someone being called up from the minors to the big league. Maybe he gets and attitude adjustment when he sees how different dealing with superbeings is from busting minor thugs.
Actually, those are the aspects that interest me more. I havent seen the pilot, mind you, so im just making assumptions from the trailers i have seen, but it really gives the vibe of Avengers Junior, and not in a bad way.
I mean, Whedons line when he was filming Avengers and promoting it was that one of the things that interested him more was that Avengers was a story about a team made up by people who where not team players, at all. Even the one that probably was, Captain America, was in a bad situation himself of being a walking anachronism doubting being up to the task, and therefore too much of an outsider. One of the things i loved about the avengers was seeing this group of individuals becoming a team, each of them very naturally and for his own reason, at least thats what i thought about it. I liked the movie quite a lot.
In a way, we have a specialist that does not like to be in a team, an idealist hacker who also confesses not being a team player, and a field agents who wants to be in an office and so much far away from the field as posible.
About the two scientist, i dont know, but that makes three out of five people entering a team who actually neither want not really believe thay were made to work in one. And there is Coulson, the Fury character (i dont expect it to be that literal), the one that believes they can make a kickass team with the right push.
That sort of Avengers team sort, adapted to a spy group, to me, being one of the elements i think were great in the movie, explored week after week in long form with all the dramatic detail it can unfold... Well that i am really liking a lot.
Again, maybe that will be sorted out in five minutes or one episode and the series will go in a completely diferent direction... But from where im standing NOW, it sounds quite atractive to me.
