There's nothing wrong with Monica Rambeau being a redbone.

Nope. I wouldn't have a problem if she was cast as Monica. Plus she fine as hell, which is really whats most important. :o

It's sad that Marvel has so few Black female characters that the only ones who fans can name are Storm, Monica and Misty Knight. That is the reason Monica was the first character a lot of people thought of -- there are only three that come to mind, and one of them isn't available.

There are other less well know black characters she could be. They've already shown that they don't mind using super obscure characters with the sidekick from Slapstick.

How is it people started assuming she would be Monica anyway?

I am still going with antagonist, probably enemy scientist.

Hey, Imagine if in the season finale Skye turns out to be a Hydra agent or something? That could be fun :P

Ohhh, spy within a group of spies.

Nobodies ever done that before. :o :p

One of the Whedon team said in an interview that they had no idea who Mike Peterson was from the comics until the interviewer told them about him. That was just a coincidence, though one wonders why they don't have a researcher on staff to look through Marvel's database for character names and such. (That's assuming that Marvel has a database.)

I know a lot of people (including myself) are wanting every hero & villain on the show to have some kind of link to the comics, & I think a good portion of them will be from the comics. However, (my thought is) during the first couple episodes (especially) they probably will not. This is because they want the main focus to be on us learning about this new team of Shield Agents, and throwing in a villain or hero from the comics might not only take away from us learning about these agents, but it could also be problematic in not allowing adequate time to develop the heroes or villians story properly. So, in my opinion it is better we go with heroes and villians we don't care about for the first episodes, until the core group has been explained, and they can spend more time giving these other comic book characters proper treatment within the show.

Just my thoughts on it though.

That may be the case for the first two episodes, but episode 3 will have Dr. Franklin Hall, who turns into Graviton. Whether or not Dr. Hall becomes Graviton remains to be seen.

And episode may have ULTIMATUM. So they're definitely using things from the comics.

Yeah, I know about Dr. Franklin Hall being in Episode 3, and I am looking forward to it. I guess we will have to wait & see if he becomes Graviton or not, but if they do make him Graviton I just hope they don't water down his powers to make it work for the TV Series, because he should be taking on some pretty powerful heroes and not just SHIELD operatives. As I said a few of my posts back, he is way out of their league. However, I wouldn't mind it if they introduce not just Dr. Franklin Hall, but Graviton in this series, if they do something like have him go into hiding after the accident because he doesn't understand his new powers & wants to learn how to use them. In which case he could return as Graviton in a future movie or series fighting a character or characters with a more evenly leveled power set. I just don't want to see him throwing chairs, it would be such a waste.

Hall could develop powers which, upon their first meeting, are within SHIELD's capabilities of handling him. But over time they would develop and augment tremendously so that eventually only the Avengers could take him on. So don't have him at full strength immediately so that he can become Graviton but still be in SHIELD's league.

If they defeat him, someone could later observe that his powers seem to be growing at an incredible rate and if it keeps up he'll be unstoppable. SHIELD would've only lucky to stop him now because he hadn't reached full maturity.

Very true. Not all villains/heroes have to be fully developed upon acquiring their abilities.

Also, I guess while the characters themselves in SHIELD are not powerful, their technology can be. I am thinking of that scene where Blonsky was battling the Hulk on the Campus and then he turns and runs towards the two SHIELD vehicles holding those sonic shock cannon type weapons that held the Hulk at bay even if for only a few moments, but it was still very impressive. So, my point is even if Graviton is way more powerful and they are weak physically and with no super powers, they might still be able to compensate and combat his powers with advanced technology. I just really don't want Graviton's powers coming off weak when he is such a power house, but I get what you are saying about his powers increasing over time, so as long as they can make him seem like a majorly destructive force in the show I guess I will be okay with them not showing off the fullest extent of his powers.

They can set up Graviton to be the main villain of Avengers 4, if this series can last until then.
