Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents of SHIELD TV series for ABC - General Discussion - Part 7

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this show needs to get season 1 to Netflix as soon as possible.

So many shows I love now come because of Netflix, I had never even heard of Breaking Bad until 3 seasons were on Netflix, would have never even tried Lost out on live TV, same with TWD, Arrow, Mad Men, Dexter, Parks and Rec, HIMYM, and numerous other programs. And I know at least 15 people who have experienced the same thing.

People just don't want to watch a show week by week anymore like they did in the late 80s to mid 90s, they'd much rather have access to all episodes at once to binge watch and then catch up with the show on Live TV

I think to build a good exposure and get millions more people ready for season 2 you put season 1 on Netflix ASAP, slap a big Marvel sticker on the cover picture and reap the benefits. I know I would have enjoyed the first 10 episodes more if I coulda watched them all over a few days rather than a few months lol.
Actually a lot of people enjoy watching from week to week, my family does, and most of my friends are enjoying watching the show week to week. The people I've talked enjoy the period of suspense after each episode. They like that everything isn't spoiled immediately and are glad that they are spaced out.

Does anyone actually like the show, yes, it had some problems at the beginning, but since episode 6 every episode has been solid and some have been great!

I'd like to see someone like Sif battle Deathlok, or some other combination of conflict between two comic characters who don't normally cross paths.

Nothing really new here, except for a "very dark episode":

Does Skye know she's an 0-8-4 on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
Yes! Chloe Bennet tells me that Coulson told Skye the truth about her parents' deaths and her potential to have special powers. But don't fit her for a cape yet. "I have no birth certificate," she reminds me. "I could still be a human. I could be something else." Get ready for a very dark episode that deals with the fallout from the ultimate reveal.

Well of course millions of people are still watching week to week, but the next step in television convenience in my eyes is full streaming seasons like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. People enjoy being able to have access to all the episodes of a series rather than one at a time.

Some one wrote on another forum:

"Mentallo and the Fixer teamed up together to control Deathlok (1976 marvel two in one #26-27), and assassinate the president. Maybe, just maybe AOS writers were inspired by the story and somehow connect Mentallo (and possibly the Fixer?) to Mike Peterson."

:hmm

Ward is strong, he can beat a super soldier alone, he isn't weak. He is just lacking of social skills.

That right there is a problem. How on earth are those Extremis lackeys considered "super soldiers" if ordinary humans like Ward and May(!) can take them one-on-one in a straight-up fight?

have you seen the last couple of episodes?

I have, I was not overly impressed, they just weren't 'bad.' Part of the issue is that I kept watching the show with my roommate even when I was sorely disappointed with it, so I actually resent the show and its numerous missed opportunities now. I'm glad others are happy with the superhero cameos coming up, but I can't seem to get excited about it. To me, that's the very least they could have done with this show, and it's still built on a shoddy foundation.

Nice! I wonder if she'll be dress the same way? ;)

Loki makes more sense as the Calirvoyant, especially with Lorelei coming to Midgard pursued by Sif. If Sif tells the Son of Coul that she was dispatched to retrieve Lorelei by "Odin," then the Trickster god might be up to much more than just making Thor's wannabe girlfriend play fetch.

i hope Loki isn't the Clairvoyant. I think that would be overusing him. I love Loki, but he shouldn't be the only villain in the MCU. I'd rather see the universe expand rather than fall back on something that's worked before.

Loki's got the Asgardian throne and his biggest opposition in Thor out of the realm, why would he bother with Earth dealings? If anything he'll be playing things as careful as possible up there not getting into some silly Earth matters.

What with Thanos showing up (eventually) in the films, Agents of SHIELD would be the perfect place to establish the Eternals/Deviants/Celestials mythology. I still think the Clairvoyant should be tied up in that. Maybe have him be a Deviant, like Ghaur, or an Eternal, like Druig. Actually, Druig makes the most sense out of the characters from that mythos. Centipede falls right in line with his usual MO, accumulating power in the human world through politics and terrorism. And while all Eternals share the same set of powers, individual Eternals almost invariably specialize in one or two of their race's list of abilities, and Druig's specialty has always been telepathy and mind control.

I like Druig as a candidate for The Clairvoyant much better than any of the other suggested names, because even after he's defeated, his presence opens up the door to all the other stuff from the Eternals mythos, like the Deviants and Ghaur and Maelstrom and Sprite and the Dreaming Celestial. That's four additional seasons worth of Big Bads right there.

I'm not sure how Loki, who should still be in Asgard posing as Odin, would make more sense than a spurned former SHIELD agent who wants revenge on the organization, who has telepathic abilities, is a high ranking member of HYDRA, and has a history involving Deathlok and teamed up with another former SHIELD agent who is proficient in technology and also has connections to HYDRA...on a SHIELD show.

Yes. Though he's kinda a boring choice
Yea not a lot of people know about him.

Also, not a coincidence Mentallo has recently resurfaced in the latest Secret Avengers run as a member of the A.I.M. high council.

but isn't Mentallo a mutant and therefore FOX property?

He is a mutant, which might be a problem. But he did start his "life" as a SHIELD agent who went bad so Marvel might have the rights to him. Mentallo has the right powers (sort of) but he is kinda lame.

Besides, I just want Loki to materialize behind Coulson and say, "Surprise, *****! Bet you thought you'd seen the last of me!" :funny:

It's the kind of thing where Marvel/Disney would own the rights because most of his history lies with SHIELD, AIM, and HYDRA storylines in the comics.

Speaking of coincidence I just saw on 'the other site' that the Leader is going to be on the next episode of the Agents of SMASH cartoon. I haven't been watch the show, but... synergy! :oldrazz:

The more I think about it,the more I want Loki to be the Clairvoyant. But I just don't see how the timeline matches up too well.I can see Loki playing puppet master to earth while on the throne of Asgard. But I think he was in prison for the first episodes of the series, and I doubt he orchestrated things from there.
