The Dark Knight AICN: Costume change happens ON camera?

I simply do not understand how cape clasps keep him from looking like Batman. That is a bit extreme and even more so ridiculous.

Some of us, on the other hand, want him to look like Batman.

You're completely right. He looked nothing like Batman in Begins. I mean, so what if he had a big bat on his chest, bat ears, a long black caped scalloped like bat wings, finned gauntlets, and all that jazz. He had cape claps!!!

It's also funny that you post that in response to someone saying he looks like a knight and a warrior. Since when is Batman not those things?

Why're you such a prick? I mean, honestly, I don't even disagree with what you're saying, but you might as well just post "Hi, I'm Saint, and I'm a giant prick" because that's all your posts are saying to me.

His condscending attitude oozes through every single one of his posts. He has this self imposed heir of supperiority. Actually, I'm being too kind and wordy in describing him. To put it simply, he's just a dick ...

And I'm not even trying to start something, it's just obvious.

Exactly. And it's a shame as, he's not an idiot. He's a smart guy, I know. He can make good points when he wants to, and all of that stuff.

But when you have that pretenious attitude, it undermines your intelligence, and undermines the points you're trying to make.

People actually start wanting to disagree with you just because of your demeanor, rather than your actual logic, and that's never a good thing. For anyone involved.

what exactly does Batman look like? I think the clasps were deliberately added to keep consistent with the suit being pieced together (and not looking entirely seemless). without having some function, I'm all for their removal in TDK. but I really didn't have a problem with them.

Exactly ... glad someone else noticed.

And let's remember, we're talking about clasps. 99.3% of people who will ever watch Batman Begins won't even notice them.

My mum noticed them. She said 'what do those things do?'

I think one of the reasons some guys give themselves a wedgie over the clasps is because Kilmer and Clooney wore clasps, in the Schumacher movies. If Keaton had been the first Batman to wear clasps, that would stop most of the whiners right there.

The other half of the whiners are just people who like to nitpick on the details... "teh nekk is 2 thic, ZOMG! Eers point teh wroong diraction, r not longg enoug, he need he underwars over his pants, that is not batman :cmad: **** DIS MOOVIE!!!!!!!!11111111"

Those people, cannot be silenced. :csad:

Keyser has always been one of my favorite posters. I want to go on record with that.

They're not "extreme," and I did not say they were. They are a problem for me because the only logical reason for there existence is to make him look less like he does in the comics. If it was specified that they served some function (I know we all speculate they're there for emergency detachment, but this appears nowhere in the film) that would be okay--I still wouldn't like them, but they would irritate me less. This is not the case, though.

That's not what I said. A problem I encounter frequently on this forum is that nobody seems to accept the existence of degrees. If I say clasps don't look like Batman, everybody starts bleating as if I said the entire suit is terrible. No, that is not what I said. The Begins suits definitely looks like Batman, but not to the degree that I would like for TDK. I have explained many times that I like the Begins suit--but I don't like it so much that I refrain from expecting better.

It's also funny that you post that in response to someone saying he looks like a knight and a warrior. Since when is Batman not those things?
What you should note is that he does not need little triangles stapled to his chest in order to look like the things he already is.

Why're you such a prick? I mean, honestly, I don't even disagree with what you're saying, but you might as well just post "Hi, I'm Saint, and I'm a giant prick" because that's all your posts are saying to me.
If someone wishes to disregard my points because of my manner, that's really not something that bothers me.

Exaggeration.
He has this self imposed heir of supperiority.
Blatantly false. My lack of tact does not constitute delusions of superiority.

To put it simply, he's just a dick
Now you're closer to the mark.

And I'm not even trying to start something, it's just obvious
Ha! This reminds me of people who say "No offense" before they say something plainly offensive, as if it makes a difference.

And let's remember, we're talking about clasps. 99.3% of people who will ever watch Batman Begins won't even notice them.
It doesn't matter what 99.3% of the audience thinks; it only matters what I think. I'm watching the movie for my sake.

The other half of the whiners are just people who like to nitpick on the details... "teh nekk is 2 thic, ZOMG! Eers point teh wroong diraction, r not longg enoug, he need he underwars over his pants, that is not batman **** DIS MOOVIE!!!!!!!!11111111"
Yes, how ridiculous that someone else might find important something you do not. Surely, they must be spamming ******s.

I wouldnt have a problem with them using the same material as Spiderman/Superman Returns.

It would be awesome if they could duplicate the Jim Lee Hush Batman look on the bigscreen as opposed to all this armor bull****

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES... :woot:

Thank you Mr. Nolan.

I, for one am tired of the "Black Rubber" or "Iron Man" Batman suits for the movies. Anyone who have seen some of the better Batman fan movies (Patient J, Dead End) proves that a non-rubber suit acan work on film.

And those were done on a limited budget thinnk when they put some real money behind the design. :yay:

If that looked good to you, you're crazy.

My sanity in general is questionable, However my appreciation for how Batman is representive in movies is not.

I'm not saying make it the same as those fanfilms, but a batsuit made of Black Rubber (cringe) or black Rubber made to look metallic has been done before, so a buitsuit made out of fabric will be a good thing.

With more money behind it the suit will obviously be made better than what you see in those fanfilms, and they were prety good. to wit...
