Alice in Wonderland 2

It's weird because it feels that she has outgrown the film series.
I think that is exactly why it makes me happy. It almost seems surreal that 5 years later and a completely different career, she is back. It will be fluff, but fluff with people I enjoy watching.

I dunno about the rest of you guys, but I enjoyed the previous one. Yes, it's a little flawed but at least it wasn't trying to be another umpteenth adaptation of the same old story. I felt the sequel-story idea gave us an interesting perspective from a now much older Alice and thus it provided some actual character development for her, something that I honestly felt Walt's 1951 version lacked (I don't hate that movie, but I DO feel that one had a lot more problems than this did). The only reason I think some people hated it was JUST because Tim Burton directed it. Well, now he's not involved with this one, so at least there won't be complaints directed based on him this time.

I saw the first one twice, and I honestly can't remember a single detail of it other than Helena Bonham Carter's big-headed Queen.

^Almost certainly. Or at least a decent-sized teaser.

IMO, if it wasn't for the first Alice, I'd be a whole lot angrier when people talk s*** about Burton. Even if his stuff for the past decade or so hasn't matched up to his early work, I still like almost all of it. I like his Charlie and the Chocolate Factory almost as much as the one with Gene Wilder. His POTA might have a crap story and miscasts, but the visuals and make-up were damn good. His stop motion movies? Great. Sweeney Todd? Great.

But Alice... ugh. Piss poor visuals, story not worth remembering, Johnny Depp doing some dumb ass dancing. Pass. :o

Yeah, Alice was the only Burton film I think I walked out of just flat out angry.

What is POTA?

Planet Of The Apes. I keep forgetting he made that.

I agree the first film has plenty of problems, but it is a guilty pleasure of mine. I enjoy it in spite of itself.

Two more mini teasers released. Are they just gonna release the full trailer in five second episodes or what? :o

Thanks. :woot:

I am liking the look of the movie, much better then the first one imo. A lot of color.

The VFX look a lot more seamless and the colors are just eye-popping. I don't know how well it's going to do next May.

I've admittedly been pretty uninterested in this movie, but just seeing that it looks soooooooo much clearer and less murky makes me slightly interested. And it looks like Elfman is returning to score it, so that's a plus.

Yeah the film looks more beautiful. Though even with all that make-up, Depp is showing his age. I can't tell explain it though.

love the red queen's reaction to that little mechanical figure of a guy getting his head chopped off I will so be there opening weekend for this!

Yeah... this actually looks like it could be alot of fun. It has a great cast and the effects look more seamless and dynamic than the first one.

However, even with only a few seconds of footage, does it seem like Johnny Depp is seriously overacting in his role?

It almost like he's forgotten how he played the character and simply turned his wackiness dial up to 11.

I'm not exactly impressed, but I never cared for the original, and so far I really haven't seen anything from this to interest me.

That's the same issue I had with his Jack Sparrow in the sequels.

Anne has never looked more beautiful than in these films. :hmr: :ilv: And that's about the only reason why I'd watch it.
