Sega Alien: Isolation

Slightly amused that they had to put a "in-game footage, work in progress" disclaimer up front. Surprised there wasn't a line saying "not affiliated with Gearbox"

I hope this is good. It looks good. We might get lucky this time.

The announcement Trailer.

After watching IGN's demo for this game and reading details about the game I am already hyped. The xenomorph looks huge and terrifying, it will actively search for you with it's sense (sight, sound, smell), and did I mention it looks terrifying. I really hope this game turns out good and very glad Gearbox has nothing to do with it.

Looks pretty damn fine, now hopefully it's not a bunch of lies like Colonial Marines was.

Did Gearbox ever get sued for that one. The final product looked nothing like the E3 walkthroughs, it was a total lie.

Im deff intrigued by the Alien inspiration over Aliens, but I do have to admit ill miss using the pulse rifle to shoot s**t. I think that may be my fav rifle in all of fiction. Love the sound and design of that thing.

I actually hope they got some action segments. But it should be like Aliens. 5 Minutes of you shooting at moving objects and getting your butt kicked, followed by hours of just trying to stay alive.

Well considering theres only one Xeno in the game, im not sure what they'll have us doing, action wise.

I mean i don't have any issues with a non action game, as its been said, we've had tons of those(even tho they may suck). I'll just miss being in an Alien universe without getting to fire my fav fictional weapon.

Well, the rumors of "Ripley's daughter" were true. Don't like that. Thankfully, everything else quietly whispers excellence, so it's a minor quibble. The real question now is how they stretch this over a 10 hour game; this approach could overstay its welcome if there isn't enough variety from one scenario to another.

Anyone else intrigued with the crayolas and marker drawings? I've always been interested by what the Hadley's Hope massacre must've been like from Newt's scale.

I thought Sega was going to sue them because they were using Sega's money on Borderlands 2

I don't think that was ever proven, if it was, im sure Sega would wanna recoup that money and we all would of heard about it by now.

I'm still waiting for the first truly great Alien game. It's ironic that there hasn't been one considering how much influence the series, particularly Aliens, has had on video games.

What Gearbox did wasn't illegal. Publishers give checks to keep the developers on track to release. How said monies are spent doesn't matter so long as the release date's met. It's Sega's fault for not cancelling it when they missed their date the first time. That was a big sign they weren't serious enough. Allowing Gearbox to salvage Colonial Marines led them to outsource it almost entirely to TimeGate, Demiurge, and Nerve, which was the twist of the knife for that game.

The waves of Zerg you'd encounter in StarCraft's Terran campaign did a better job in the 90s of capturing the feel of Aliens than a game with access to the movie's assets. A real shame.

AvP 2 by Monolith was an amazing game, and still the best Alien game I think. The SP was great and the MP was even better. But I too would still like to see more in the great category in this property.

If it's not coming to WiiU then it shouldn't be on 360/PS3 either. I know the 360/PS3 have a larger install base.. But still.

At this point Nintendo needs to just churn out grade A first party titles... Constantly. No waits.

Kind of a shame, since this could probably work great with the Wii U controller.

Plus it would be better on Wii u over 360/ps3

You mean it should be on wii U if it's on those 2. No way in hell it shouldn't be on 360/PS3 for any reason. The install base isn't just larger, its bigger for each of 360 & PS3 than wii U, PS4 & X1 combined many times over. And the tech is not wildly different to wii U.

And churning out 1st party titles, how often can they realistically release a huge game. Even one a month is not very much, if one title doesn't totally catch your interest you have a 2 month gap with nothing new to play. And one company putting out 12 major titles a year, every year with no delays would be a superhuman effort. Losing out on multiplatform is a HUGE muck up for any console, wherever the blame lies, and it is only going to get worse as true next games start coming out in a few years.

The motion sensor should be on the tablet controller. That could be great actually.

And even overlooking facility schematics.
