Why do people slate Alien 3 so?
It was very well made....i loved it purely because it had a similar fear factor to Alien (the whole no big guns, just running around airducts/corridors scared poopless)
you all need to show more love...theres no way on gods green and blue earth (with a hint of brown and white where mountains are and yellow where the sand is) that any Alien vs Predator film to be made will ever be better than the original trilogy....your all probably the samer folk who though episodes 1-3 were better than the original trilogy for star wars.....
shame on you...shame on you all.....
I feel no shame towards hating the worst sequel I've ever seen. There are multiple reasons why Alien 3 sucked for me:
The first and most blatant was Fox's teaser trailer I saw in a theater which placed the storyline on earth with a blade runner style setting.
The opening scene of Alien 3 never made any sense to me. The queen had time and room to create another egg sac in the dropship's landing gear during the few minutes it took to leave LV-426 and return to the Sulaco? If all of this did happen what happened to the new egg sac that was formed?!!! Who did the queen get free of the egg sac so quickly? It took her minutes to get herself free of the old one to chase after Ripley.
Before going in hybernation Ripley decided not to check the Dropship for any other alien lifeforms after seeing the queen successfully hide herself
and after considering what happened with her previous encounter 57 years ago with the original alien? Right.
Ripley and the crew also decided not to run a diagnostic of the ship for any alien life forms before going into hybernation.

That's way too many plotholes for me too accept.
The 1st five minutes of Alien 3 ruined the final events of Aliens. Hicks, Bishop, and Newts' quick demise was quite shocking in a very bad lazy writing kind of way.
99% of the characters in Alien 3 were forgettable. Ripley was the only one I cared about and she bites the dust.
Overall I think the script is terrible in comparison to the previous films. What was so amusing about putting an alien in an environment with hardened criminals looking for God? This movie was the combination of a wannabe ripoff of the previous films. It couldn't be mysterious like Alien because we already know what the creatures look like. It couldn't have the action of Aliens because the prisoners didn't have any weapons.
As a result of this Alien 3 felt like a lame slasher horror film where no one gives a damn about who the antagonist kills. I sure didn't care much.
The bad special effects of the alien running after the prisoners only made the film worse.
Alien 3 will always be the most disappointing Alien film for me after considering all of the reasons mentioned above. It's certaintly not as bad as all the crap that came after it. However, the crap that came after doesn't bother me as much because my opinion of this franchise after Alien 3 became so low it's almost impossible to disappoint me.
