thankyou
ok so yes there are plotholes in Alien 3...there are plotholes in most sequels nowadays but think of it this way.....you have just seen a film created by Cameron and there is not initial intention to make a third (its not like now adays where they plan films in 3 ie matrix, pirates) so how would you create something that would be both scarier than its predecessor and gripping all the way through and on top of that keep it in continuity with Camerons work?
Ending the franchise would have been a better idea after aliens if no one was able to come up with a good script. That is clearly the case for Alien 3.
Alien 3 people thats how....Fincher did a fantastic job.....the idea of a lone egg was a good touch i felt....
I thought it was a horrible idea that made no sense.
....i mean the Queen or any drone alien couldve planted that there at any point in the second one....
Did you completely, ignore all the reasons I stated for why it made no sense for the queen to be able to put it there? The queen was hiding in the landing gear for at most 5 minutes. The egg sac she made to produce eggs was almost as large as her and probably would have taken hours to get that big. If the queen was able to grow that sac in the few minutes before the dropship returned to the sulaco what happened to it?
The idea that an alien drone put it there is beyond ridiculous. The queen was the only alien that got out of the atmospheric processing center while it was falling apart at the end. The dropship piloted by bishop landed to rescue Ripley and Newt from the queen for only a few seconds.
........Or to really put a spanner in the works, it couldve been put there by the writers cos the entire colony was wiped out and for all intensive purposes they couldnt have any more aliens....so they created one........
I call it lazy writing. All the aliens had not been killed. The colony was infected by the face huggers brought back from the space jockey ship Dallas, Lambert, and Kane entountered in Alien. If the colonists had been living on LV-426 for decades and didn't know about the alien ship it must have been hours away from the colony and it wasn't destroyed when the colony went nuclear.
........yes there were a lot of characters you couldnt care to like.....but so what?the films premise is Ripley....she is the one whose goen two films and fought these things........
What do you mean so what? I liked all the characters in Alien? They all served a purpose and had a specific function on the Nostromo:
Ash-Science officer
Ripley-Warrant officer, 3rd in charge
Dallas-Captain
Kane-Executive officer, 2nd in charge
Lambert-Navigator
Parker-Chief Engineer
Brett-Assistant Engineer
Aliens
Burke-Weyland Yutani corporate executive
Bishop-Executive and science officer
Ripley-civilian advisor
Hicks-Corporal, 3rd in charge
Ferro-Corporal, dropship pilot
Spunkymeyer-Private dropship weapons officer
Hudson-Private, computer tech expert
Gorman-Lieutenant, 1st in charge
Apone-Sergeant, 2nd in charge
Dietrich-Corporal, medic
Drake-Private 1st class, smartgunner
Vasquez-Private 1st class, smartgunner
Wierzbowski-private
Frost-private
Crowe-private
I liked the majority of the above characters in Aliens except Crowe and Wierzbowski who had no character development. All of the other characters were interesting and their above functions showed how they contributed to the mission.
Alien 3 characters
Dillion-rapist, wannba minister
name?-prison guard
name?-prison warden
name?-medical officer
name?-rapist or murderer
name?-rapist or murderer
name?-rapist or murderer
name?-rapist or murderer
name?-rapist or murderer
name?-rapist or murderer
name?-rapist or murderer
name?-rapist or murderer
name?-rapist or murderer
These characters were so uninteresting and interchangeable I was barely able to remember Dillion's name.
.....the fourth has unknown characters in it....
Yep and I have an easier time remembering some of the Betty crew names inspite of how crappy A:R was. At least this movie had some characters that contributed something to the story. Johner was funny. Vriess was the chief mechanic. Christie was probably second or third in command.
.........the idea of the prison was brilliant....it was an explainable reason as to why they all dont just run outside and let the alien free....they cant...theyre convicts........
I call it lazy writing.
Besides, Sigourney Weaver I don't remember this film having great actors in it. Charles S. Dutton is just an okay actor. Certaintly not an A-list one. What memorable work has he done since Rock? Lance Henrikson was barely in the movie. What other well known actors were in Alien 3.
Opinions vary.
and i agree the musical score was brilliant
I usually don't remember the musical scores of films that put me to sleep.
....when ripley falls into the lava clutching the alien....brilliant....tears form everytime
If the film hadn't bored me I might have cared.
........you cant knock this film if you think Terminator 3 is good
I never said terminator 3 was good. I thought it was okay. However, I don't understand all the hate people have for it because I've explained away every T3 plothole that I've heard.
........or AvP 1 or 2 are good
I never said this either. AVP 1 was crap and I won't be watching AVP2 until it airs on tv.
and to think Star Wars episode 3 comes anywhere near the originals....oh my god
Where are you coming up with this? I have never said that any of the star wars prequels came anywhere close to as good as the originals. The phantom menace was one of the most disappointing movies I've ever seen(X3 being the most disappointing). Attack of the clones was better because the sequel couldn't be any worse. Revenge of the Sith was enjoyable but, the movie had many flaws.
the biggest plot hole from episode 3 to episode 4?
VADER DOESNT LOVE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!
the guy who's meant to be the most evil man in the universe killed everyone for someone else....does that not sound odd to you?hes meant to be ruthless selfish and violent...yet he did all he did to save someone he loves...that doesnt sound like someone evil to me....that just sounds like someone determined so dont start complaining about Alien 3's plotholes when you support tripe like that....
What? Do you even know the basic definition of what a plothole is? The basic definition is an inconsistency in a storyline that goes against the basic flow of logic. Anakin's intentions to save Padme started off good and slowly turned bad the moment he valued his selfish wants over the needs of the republic. Jedi are supposed to be selfless. Cutting off Mace Windu's hand was the turning point in Anakin's transition to the dark side. All of his actions after that were motivated by selfishness. This really isn't that hard to understand.
