Of course this comes a week after halloween and the L+3 and L+7's will help like they have in the past. Oh and as far as the NFL's numbers being low...two words...Colin Kaepernick. The numbers have been down ever since the 49ers QB protest of The Star Spangled Banner. Look I am for free speech, but hating our national anthem or our founding fathers and mothers, well that deserves a trip to kick your a$$ city!
Compare that to the World Series...ESPECIALLY GAME 7...40 MILLION PEOPLE nationwide tuned in to that game which some have called the greatest game in baseball...I think that's hyperbole, but what a game it was. Then again, how would you feel if you were a Chicago Cubs fan knowing your team had to wait ONE HUNDRED EIGHT YEARS (before TV, Radio, talking movies, heck even sliced bread) between world titles?
I mean the shares in Chicago were IMMENSE...a 71 share...meaning 71% of the TV sets in the Chicago DMA (which includes parts of WI, IN and MI) were tuned to WFLD-32 and Fox's coverage of Game 7, and this in a way helps CW 50 WPWR their co-Fox TV Stations owned sister station, which might do some cross promotions and such. Not a bad way to celebrate WFLD's 50th anniversay on the air.
I hear next week's episode will be pre-empted in certain areas.
