Felicity wasn't embraced because of "shippers", she was embraced because the general audience absolutely *hated* Laurel across the first two seasons. And pretty inarguably, she didn't work, certainly not as a love interest.

If I may break things down based on the charts...

Adults 18-49 – Total gain

THE FLASH an 80% gain
SUPERGIRL a 100% gain!


Adults 18-49 – Percentage gain

SUPERGIRL a 100% gain!
ARROW an 80% gain


Viewers – Total gain

THE FLASH 69%


Viewers – Percentage gain

Flash Supergirl and Arrow all 69% gain.


VERDICT: 7+ is a lucky number.

And no premiere of DWTS....

Fans especially the shippers also tend to think that if they scream loud enough the PTB and writers will go their way. What I have found is the PTB and writers go the direction that they wanted to from the start.

I think the craziness of this season, the hit and misses of the episodes is far more to do with the last minute move to Vancouver. I don't really have anything in particular as far as story lines that I want to see next season, but I do hope that the episodes are far more cohesive and fluid. This season it's been like they start the season over every episode. lol

Not so much this show, but I think that the online screaming affected Arrow with the Katie Cassidy and Olicity mess. I do think they may have listened about not enough Supergirl in the crossover.

I think we can probably safely say that yes they did listen to that, since they have discussed that very thing a few times since then and given their reasons for it and how it will be different next season.

Indeed. Showrunners always prep themselves for the year ahead with what's called forward looking statements. Sometimes it's just spin on the network's or TPTB...but anything to sell the show to the nets and advertisers.

Daylight savings time does nothing good for ratings. The extended time off doesn't help either.

That is actually one of the worst Monday nights I've seen in a long time across the board....the lowest probably in many years. Nothing was above a 1.0 except The Big Bang Theory (barely) and the usual juggernauts The Voice and DWTS, who were both much lower than usual.

Wow, that is a sad looking Monday night.

With the announcement of DC's new streaming service, I'm now thinking they're going to drag every series they have going to however many seasons their respective casts are signed for.

If they're anything like Flash and Arrow, it's likely the main Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, iZombie, Gotham, Lucifer, etc casts signed 6-7 year deals.

I wonder how well last night's episode was promoted in the last few weeks as the previews didn't come in until yesterday or Sunday.

Long breaks are never good for Supergirl or other DCU shows.

There was promotion with the reruns....and since EVERYBODY was in reruns.....not sure many people saw the promotion. But that isn't the problem.....daylight savings is the culprit.

Supergirl didn't get any less than Flash. DST is always a problem, it is every year. Would it have been nice for SG to get more promotion? SURE.....

Flash just hit its lows earlier, it had a full month of low. 1.0 is not great for Flash....but they will take it for sure.

Heck even NCIS and Bull did horrible last night.

Pretty amazing that Flash doubled up Arrow and Supergirl this week.

Especially with iZombie at a 0.3, SHIELD at a 0.7, Powerless pulled from the schedule.

Gotham is holding up pretty well all things considered, but it's possible that Flash could be the last show ever to get a 1.0 on CW.

I don't see any of the other Arrowverse shows jumping all the way back to 1.0 except for the major crossovers. Maybe Superman on Supergirl or Black Lightning's premiere, but I doubt it.

Supernatural isn't hitting a 1.0 any time soon either, and none of the other CW shows are even hitting 0.5s.

Personally I'm a bit disappointed that iZombie is rating so low, considering what a quality show it is. But, but, I know that's not how the game works...

At this point I see some signs that WB may in fact be very happy to get Gotham to CW. I can provide rationale. That may be why the show hasn't been renewed on Fox yet, but it's all speculation.

I have to think Supergirl will improve from this rating. I think Gotham will rise as well with Lucifer coming back on the air next week, with none of the two going fractional. Harder to tell about The Flash.
