Funny how the only ones people seem to like are also the only ones that retained their classic looks.

Of course! I'm traumatized by seeing how they're destroying my "real American heroes", the heroes I loved when I was a kid, is just blasphemy, they suck, Hollywood sucks!

Is obvious they're going for the realistic look, at least is not cheesy for the most part, and some people seem to know everything about the movie, who said they're going to wear their battle gear the whole time?
I guess they will have them wear military clothes using similar colours of their comics/cartoon versions, who knows. Anyway, fanboys forget that the same whining happened with Bay's Transformers, how he was "destroying their childhood memories" blah blah blah....
Well, it seems the general audience around the world liked it, I didn't because the script was horrible, to each its own.

And last, but not least:

Collider: Fandom seems to think that everyone’s wearing black all the time. So what do you want to tell fandom that they can look forward to? What are they going to be impressed with the costumes and with the look of the film?

Lorenzo: Well, I think our costume designer’s phenomenal and she’s just done a great job in delivering a very varied look. You know, Snake Eyes is a character in black so he would be in black and you know we looked through all the comic books and The Baroness and unless we’re missing something she’s always in black. Every character in the movie is not in black all the way through including - other than Snake Eyes - who has to be in black all the way through. So, you know, there’s multiple looks that for each of those characters that you’ll see them in different color schemes and in different attitudes I’d say.

It was stupid to make all they're outfits black. The costumes all look the same and they're just generic looking. The only ones I really like are The Baroness and Snake Eyes.

Snakeyes and Baroness are the only two that wore black in their original outfits; everyone else wear black just because the director think GI JOE should be Matrix redux.

If the above is possible, then making the armor capable of moving 40 miles an hour(which is hardly the powers of the Flash) isn't too much, if you go by movie logic(Please note I said movie logic).

Movie logic, meaning that cars can explode if you shoot them a few times or land perfectly after shooting up a ramp. Or that you can punch someone without breaking your hand, or go through a plate glass window without shredding yourself.

Even when comic movies say they're going "realistic," they never go all the way, and going with what is perceived as such in a military movie set 10 years in the future featuring little-known technology that has advanced to reflect the time passed is tricky.

If you want to talk about movie logic, that's fine. But don't sit and talk to me about realism with regards to GI JOE.

Way too much black. It'll confuse the audience. It's weird, I work for the NYPD and our ESU guys don't wear black because it stands out. I guess black is the only color left 10 years into the future and all logic is subject to whim.

Why is so hard for you to understand that in the military, all soldiers have the same colours? If you want cheesy, fantasy stories, watch the cartoons or read the comics, when you make live action adaptations, you just can't have all soldiers with different colours and ridiculous, cheesy outfits, leave the silly stuff for cartoons/comics, where it belongs.

I think everyone is aware they won't be wearing these suits for the whole movie. After such a positive response to the SE costume, though, it didn't make a lot of sense to show the Joe team all wearing the armor for their first released pics. You can't blame fans for wanting to see the characters in something at least vaguely similar to their usual attire.

I agree that if these are the first pics released, and they're saying they won't be wearing black the whole movie, then why not release pictures where they don't look all the same? Maybe because the civilian clothes probably don't look like the cartoon outfits at all.

I'm thinking most people are familiar with the cartoon and not the comics. And to me, the cartoon outfits were probably one of the more easily translatable into real world design than say, X-men. So why all black? Why God Why?

It's like they WANT me to hate Duke! Duke was my favorite and I've never liked the casting of Tatum. I was at least waiting for what he'd look like in the outfit.

Speaking of which, why does everyone look like Snake Eyes? I mean, doesn't it defeat the purpose? Snake Eyes all in black is one of the things that made him unique.

On the upside, Baroness looks great!

Well obviously they won't wear the costumes the entire movie, but that doesn't mean that these black outfits aren't the standard GI Joe uniforms they'll wear.

I'm guessing they'll wear "civilian" outfits before they are recruited to GI Joe, but when they join GI Joe and become a unit you can count on them all wearing the same outfits. And that sucks.

Sorry Dude, but from the "supposed" script I read he doesn't get the mask (nanomites) until the very end of the movie.
And yeah this movie is going to suck.

Keep it going, keep jumping to conclusions about how much is going to suck all because they have dared changing some details, because is not 100% like the cartoon, because you prefer cheesy, ridiculous outfits despite being a live action movie with real people, not a friggin comic, yeah "it sucks".
Same BS when Bay's Transformers designs came out, and look how well it did, despite all the changes, the general public liked it. (I didn't, the story was too simplistic and cliché IMO.)
