It wasn't Ned Leeds, it was Roderick Kingsley all this time!

Retcon 1-2
Nick Fury has a son: Nick Fury x Hawkman (Just...Hawkman)

X4v1JkB.jpg

The Ultimate Universe featured a different aesthetic to Nick Fury, and modeled him heavily after Samuel Jackson, which was then bled over into the Disney Marvel cinematic universe with Samuel Jackson playing that canon's Nick Fury. So of course, as Marvel has to force the comics to conform to the movies and NOT the other way around, Marvel revealed that the original (and once only) Nick Fury in the 616, out of nowhere had a child...who looked exactly like Sam/Ultimate Nick...and conveniently would lose his one eye...because...seriously...he also just had to lose the one eye...
lmiR0cy.jpg

Hawkman and Hawgirl have had dozens of official origins and histories. At once. Originally, they were the reincarnations of Egyptian royalty. Until they were instead Thanagarian space-soliders. But they were both in two different universes. Until they all existed together in the same shared universe. And a third Hawkman comes into play revealing that one of the previous two was an imposter. And then they all get fused together in one body. And Hawkgod. Oh...and Hawkworld was it's own comic series explaining the new origins of Hawkman and Hawkgirl...Hawkwoman? Girl? Until Hawkworld stopped being its own thing and became entangled with what all the current Hawk-stuff was. And Kendra Sanders is housing the soul of Shayera. Or Sheira. Sheira Hall. Shayera Hall? Is it Chay-Era? Chayera Hol?? Shayera THOLL? Waaait...Kendra was literally Shayera all along?!

It's a guy with wings and a mace. He literally should just be a bird-masked barbarian. THAT works. He's not that big a character to need all of this...sh&%!

VOTE FOR which was the worst?

I vote the worst of the two being Nick Fury secretly birthing Nick Fury.

But seriously, can Hawkman just be Conan the Winged-Barbarian? Please?

Hawkman. Samuel Jackson's is the man! He's the black Chuck Norris! You can't fault Marvel for making Fury after him.

Nick Fury, because Ultimates $%#&!!

Hawkman.

When the entire company tells you not to try and understand the character then you know something went wrong.

Peter Parker (since Uncle Ben's death and still as of RIGHT NOW) is and has always been an atheist...despite he's had proven instances of believing in a higher RE-LI-GOUS power, talked to many people close to him from the afterlife, prayed, and has even TALKED WITH GOD...:wall:

Retcon 1-3
Gwen Stacy ******** Norman Osborn: Has Ninja Goblin Teens x Flashpoint into Brave New 52

nLggXXJ.jpg

Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker are love-birds. So of course, Gwen goes behind Peter's back and shags it up with a partially amnesiac Norman Osborn. This retconned a few established facts: the Green Goblin didn't target (and kill) Gwen because she just happened to be in Peter's apartment when he showed up to kill Peter (wrong place wrong time, happenstance...) it was a premeditated intimidation tactic to scare the pregnant-with-Oskids Gwen into relinquishing those Gobbies to their father (Gwen was going to come clean to Peter and hope Peter would forgive her and help her raise the kids without Norman's involvement)...so that completely undid a classic story.

It also put a burden on Mary Jane's character as this retcon says she knew this all these years and kept all of this from Peter.

So Gwen gives birth to fully mature, suddenly young adults Ninja Goblins, one of which is a lazy-designed, perfect identical spitting image of Gwen (she even wears the hairband, bat over the head much?), who Peter develops potential sexual feelings for...
da6XbPz.jpg

The Flash goes back in time and saves his mom. This causes Flashpoint, where everything is retconned. Superman was never raised by the Kents. Bruce Wayne was killed as a child, and his dad is Batman and his mom the Joker. Aquaman and Wonder Woman are at war and half the world is ruined due to it, Barry Allen himself was never the Flash...I could go on and on...

And then this retcon, Flashpoint, leads into a retcon, New 52, where DC editorial decided to change everything and everyone's continuity...except Batman's...which doesn't work, cause you cannot selectively change everything and still say Batman was unchanged (so...Batman revealed his identity to Catwoman in the story Hush still...except Hush hadn't existed in the New 52 yet and Catwoman didn't know Batman under the mask...)

And now? DC Rebirth reveals another related retcon...Flash didn't cause Flashpoint afterall...

Got it? The Flash retcons the DCU with Flashpoint, which retcons that DCU with New 52, which is being "fixed" by Rebirth, so long as you now know they're retconning that the Flash ever retconned anything at all!

awww i didnt know you cared!
cause that dude acts like he will do anything for cash! Damn!he probably will show up to your birthday party if you paid him!

Man! these rounds SUCK!!

GWEN STACY doing the nasty with Goblin!!

that book broke my freaking heart when she died. its a classic and there are just certain things like redoing " the Warriors!" that you just dont mess with...not to mention thats just creepy as &*( anyway too!

Gwen x Norman... Worst retcon in the history of the retcons of the entire world. Ugh.

Flashpoint. BARRY ALLEN! :argh:

I've never really given a rats ass about Gwen. The only Gwens I've liked have been Spider-Gwen and Ult. Gwen. 616 Gwen was always kind of meh to me and pretty much every incarnation of her besides the 616 has been more interesting. Besides it being nasty, it's not much of a big deal to me.

Flashpoint. "Sins Past" ruined one character. The New 52 has ruined dozens. It's no contest, really.

...it was a fake, and this is the established Lobo...

Retcon 1-4
Mystic Spider-God Origin x DC changes The Monarch's identity

3duuKNx.png

The radioactive spider that bit and turned Peter into a hero? It was predetermined. It was supernaturally influenced. It was destiny. And this would also introduce many stories and characters that have been met with mixed reactions, including Shathra, Miss Arrow, the Other, Morlun and his family of "psychic other-dimensional goth vampires with daddy issues" siblings, Spiderverse (in general). Oh, and while mostly unrelated, lets not forget about Silk...eww...

So Spider-Man is, or was, an avatar of a Spider-God, apart of a totemic Spider-force, all about of a great Web of Life...the Great Weaver...totem eaters...oh my gawd...so the radioactive spider had an agenda, it was apart of a mystical plan...and it somehow also created Silk, lets not forget that.

kCaHfmG.jpg

DC Comics had an event where a majorly powerful mystery menace named the Monarch was reigning chaos. And the event was set up giving readers bread crumbs. The point of bread crumbs in any given story with any degree of mystery is to give readers a chance of guessing the mystery.

So what does DC do when the readers guess correctly, that the Monarch is actually a time-displaced Captain Atom gone evil? They punish the readers by making the Monarch Hawk (from Hawk & Dove)...

It made sense to most readers that the Monarch would/should/could be Captain Atom...the reveal of Hawk instead not only ruined the story (as it made no sense) but when readers believed this change was done to throw everyone off at the last minute, it pissed the readers off.

So if you're clever enough to catch on to the hints DC leaves for you, they will pre-retcon their own story to screw you over. Oh, and by the way, they retconned Hawk being the Monarch in a later story, and made it Captain Atom anyway. So, pre-retcon that ruined the story before its conclusion into a retcon that made it what it was originallyt suposed to be anyway, the very thing that got retconned to begin with.
