My thoughts exactly. I'd like to see a return to Cyke's roots, not Wolverine and the X-Men vs Cyclops and his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants!
Me too. I wonder though, is it possible? They way they've written him, he basically died with Jean, for all intents and purposes. He doesn't believe in the dream anymore now that his dream girl is gone. In that way, he's basically a function of the woman that he's with, when one would hope it was vice versa.
How would he get that back? Why would he? As a writer, it's certainly more interesting to see that conflict between him, and even potentially Jean, which is what Logan was hinting at that actually started their Schism brawl.
Either way, it all ends in Cyclops coming to work for Logan, even if he has to die on the way. Because Cyclops, as a villain, is not as compelling as Magneto, it won't take twenty years or anything. But since we took away what he stood for in order to turn him into a villain, he becomes just a walking hunk of baggage.
Maybe he can go off on his own. Maybe its all part of his plan to root out and unite the mutant villains. Maybe he goes a different direction entirely. Perhaps I'd be more satisfied if, at the very least, he knew he was the villain. That he's become a monster, and simply feels that, at this point, that's the best way for him to serve the cause.
