ALL Promotions DISCUSSION

I called my local Burger King and they have officially kicked off the Fantastic 4promotion. Looks like its time to go to BK to get the new toy...wonder which one kicks off the promotion?

The promotion where I lived started on June 1st.

Well, at my local BK it was THE THING and THE SILVER SURFER...

Blurry, I know.
I was fighting some glare outside...

Here's my kid Ben next to the display:

He scored both of the window posters from a friendly BK employee who loves comics, too. He'd actually already stashed them away for himself, but went out to his car and gave them to my kid rather than keep them. (His idea) Pretty nice.
I guess there's just no resisting a kid that genuinely loves this stuff.

Anybody know if there's gonna be a giant cling poster like last time?
That thing was huge.

How disappointing. I rarely, if ever, stop at fast food places and last night I stopped at BK and didn't even think to check and see if the promotion had begun.

Did Burger King promoted Fantastic Four movie in 2005? Did it help a lot?

Those BK toys look awful. Only the Surfer looks somewhat decent.

STRONGLY disagree.

That THING is one of the best designed and bigggest kids meal toys I've ever seen.
It fills your entire hand and it's actually heavy.

These toys are done in a "bigfoot" style (maybe "big hand" would be more accurate.)

The Spidey toys certainly weren't to scale. (They were in the "big head" or "bobble" style. And they worked.)

These aren't meant to be Marvel Legends figures.

Is it just me, or does he look like the Thing from the animated series (without the "4" spray painted on his chest)? If so, its a nice tie-in...

Holy crap that Thing toy is huge!!!

I told my aunt to head out to BK for me....hopefully theyll have it...

I thought after the Spiderman 3 toys, I wouldnt have to go to BK again....how wrong I was!

It does look similar.
My main complaint with the new animated series was that awful spray-painted 4 and the pointy-chinned, pointy-eared, pointy-haired look of Johnny.
If they'd reeled that style in a bit, I would've watched more often.

The Surfer's hand is way large in a goofy type way. (Note: Don't place it in front of his crotch because it looks like he has something to hide.)

Being a Marvel fan in general, I just love pulling through the drive thru and being handed meals with a mix of Spider-Man and Fantastic Four stuff all over it. How can you not smile after they hand you a bag with Spider-Man ON it and FF stuff IN it?

Malus, I'm loving the fact that you named your kid Ben.:D

>^^<
Benjamin Kirby, in fact. :cwink:

The character of Ben Grimm has always shown nobility and humor in the face of adversity and tragedy. As for Kirby, well, he's long been one of my artistic heroes. (Walt Kelly was the other.)

And no, I didn't name my daughter after anyone from comics, movies or literature. :yay:

Cool. Going out tomorrow for a "Fantastic Four" day. (BK, DVD, FF toys).

Also, does anyone know if the 7-11 promotions started yet?

That Thing toy is a great designed toy for a kids meal, imo. Good size, too!

That Thing toy is awesome. I must have! :cmad:

Yeah, but won't the kiddos be disappointed when they see how small he is in the movie????? Wow, thats a huge difference.....

It really does look more like the animated series Thing. In fact, when I buy one I will spray paint a 4 on his chest.
