Pitt as Slade is really about Ayer, I can't deny that. Ayer got such a great performance out of Pitt in FURY, and I think he's in the perfect age and shape, to play the part. That being said, I could also see him as Flagg or Deadshot easy, as well. I think if we are seeing WB/DCE going after the likes of Smith, Hardy, and Leto for SS, then while it might indeed be "fan casting", I think it's well possible to get Pitt for a part too.

If WB's and Ayer are going after Smith...than we can assume that it is possible...POSSIBLE actors like Denzel, Pitt, Keanu and maybe settling for a Statham might be considered as well.

Along with Smith...anyone of those actors would be great as anti-hero/villain types who are the leaders of this ensemble SS film. They would work as Flagg or Deathtroke.

We can't expect Sam to drop everything and find out info like this for us. For one, he works for the competition. Two, it would cut into his other job bathing Whedon on a nightly basis.

If Will Smith doesn't take the role, it has to be because he wasn't the main character. If he takes the role, as a supporting character, ill be genuinely surprised by that move. And im sure a lot of thinking went into that decision for Smith, to say "OK i have to accept that im not THE star anymore, i have to change my way of thinking".

Pitt is an unrealistic suggestion. He would be much better as Rick Flagg, the leader, with Tom Hardy as Deadshot or Deathstroke.
