Seriously, what is all this Schumacher got Gotham 'spot on' BS, it was day-glo nightmare in his films, has everyone lost their mind, or has short term memory overtaken everyone, his film's costumes, look, feel, characterisation, approach, delivery and legacy all killed Batman, are you people barking ?

Gotham shouldn't look like a normal city. There should be a degree of fantasy. The look of Gotham in Burton's and Schumacher's movies is preferable to the real world look of Gotham in TDKT

Batman Forever aged well. I don't hate it as much anymore.

Yeah his Gotham was way over designed and neon filled for some reason.

I think Batman Forever is a better film than Batman Returns though. For one thing it actually seems to be about Batman to a certain degree. I think Batman Returns is the worst Batman movie of the late 80's/ 90,s. At least I have fun watching B&R, it's incredibly tough for me to even watch Returns in it's entirety.

Agreed, I like it when Gotham looks like a city that you don't generally find in real life. It adds more to the fantasy aspect of it.

i prefer the look of Gotham in B&R to BF, they upped the budget in B&R and it shows in the look of Gotham

The theme by Elliot Goldenthal is the one thing I don't like about Schumacher movies.

Yeah, I actually found both the first Batman film and Forever to be better than Returns. The only parts that I liked from Returns was when we got to see character development from Keaton's Bruce and his scenes were very few.

As ISS pointed out, at least Forever felt like the story was about Batman to some degree and it attempted to tackle some of the issues that were created from the previous two films (e.g. murdering your enemies in cold blood and how killing the joker didn't make his pain go away)
