I know this isn't going to be a popular opinion but I don't really give a crap about Gordon or having some deep focus on Gordon. I don't care if Gordon is in the movie. I can't really explain right now why I don't care but I don't.

More importantly, watch Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Nah you've seen Goodfellas. If you're alive and on this board, or any board with the loosest connection with film you'll have seen it maybe while you were passed out or something and just forgotten. But just to refresh your memory go and see it RIGHT NOW!! :yay:

:funny: I haven't seen it, but I've heard of it definitely.
Does that count?:o

Wow...just dawned on me that I haven't seen a single movie with Robert De Niro in it.
If you're a kid then no worries. But if not, that's literally the most bizarre thing ive ever read in my entire life. Like i said if ur a kid then cool, get started!! But he might be the greatest actor of all-time. This also means you've never seen a single Scorsese classic which is nuts. Godfather Part 2, Goodfellas, Casino, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Cape Fear, Awakenings, Deer Hunter, Once Upon A Time In America, Mean Streets, Cop Land, Heat, Jackie Brown, Midnight Run, even comedies like Meet The Parents & Analyze This. Or recently Silver Linings Playbook.

:funny: how does this happen?

I think i only scratched the surface too.

god damn... I hope he is not serious, like dude who didn't watch t2. Just re watched after long time, masterpiece.

Yes, being consistently in horrible movies for 12 years makes me not want him in the DCU. Call me crazy.
For the most part you're right, but the guy still nails it in his sleep. He just chooses comedies and bad movies cuz he's older and doesn't give a ****. But the guy may be the most talented living actor. He was in Silver Linings Playbook which was solid. But that's David O' Russell. If he finally gets on a good script, he'll be great as usual. Let's not forget the classic after classic he pumped out over the course of 25-30 years.

It would only make sense to me if he's a teenager. Otherwise, it's practically impossible. An adult of legal drinking age who hasn't seen a single DeNiro movie, would have to be stuck in a world of just comedies and comic book movies. That's not an insult Hazard btw, it's just odd. The equivalent of somebody saying they've never seen Jordan play basketball if they grew up during his prime. Or a person saying they've never watched a DiCaprio movie, or Pacino etc. Impossible! :hehe:

That's precisely the type of mentality that shouldn't be invited to these films. Not to take anything from him at all, he's cemented himself as a bonafide acting legend, but the days he was an acting phenom are done with.

When guys like DDL are out and active, consistently outperforming all their peers, in his late 50s no less, it boggles the mind why people would be championing veterans who have been coasting off their status for over a decade.

Marvel could sign Pacino tonight and DC could announce DeNiro tomorrow, and honest to god I wouldn't be one bit excited over it. I just don't consider them "it" anymore.

I'm 19...I don't know how either, but I know of Robert de Niro like I've seen him in a film before but I haven't. :funny:

Daniel Day Lewis is the best actor on the planet that's still alive in terms of talent.

Oh really?

I guess you've never seen any of Seann William Scott's work. :o

I have to second this.

To anyone born in the early 90s who will be turning 24-25 now, the only Robert De Niro roles they would know from watching in the theater would be (assuming that they only watched PG-13 movies till they were 13):
- Analyze This
- Analyze That
- Showtime
- Shark Tale
- Meet the parents
- Meet the fockers
- Little Fockers
- Rocky and Bullwinkle
- Stardust
- Limitless
- Silver Linings Playbook

And the same list for Al Pacino:
- Devil's Advocate
- The Insider
- Insomnia
- The Recruit
- S1m0ne
- Gigli
- Ocean's 13
- Jack and Jill

Both De Niro and Pacino's careers took a sharp u-turn after Heat, and Heat will be 20 years ago next year. What happened to these acting powerhouses?

No problem bud. To be honest, you're not that much younger than i am but at the same time you are i guess. If that makes sense. Im 26. Depends on how you grew up too, who showed you what movies at a young age. I would start with his collaborations with Martin Scorsese. 3 of which were with Joe Pesci. Of course the first 2 Godfathers (he's in the second, speaking only Italian).

True but he's in his 70's. He proved in Silver Linings that he still cares when he chooses something with heart and good writing. So if he jumps on a DC movie that is well written and directed, he'll be awesome. But i dont want him for Gordon anyway. Too old for me, and wouldn't work if Gordon's dead and they need flashbacks.

I actually think Pacino cares about his craft more than Bobby-D these days. But even he has been coasting if you want to compare him to what Keaton just did in Birdman or what DDL does from project to project. I think Gary Oldman might be hitting that stage in career too, where he's just taking fun jobs but not caring if it comes off like something he's already done or playing himself. That's the biggest criticism of Pacino/Deniro in the last 15 years. That they've been mainly playing themselves. When they were killing it in the 70s, 80s, 90s...they were always playing crazy characters that couldn't be further from who they were.

I agree. If anything, it would be sweet to see a quick cameo on the rooftop with Batman.

A cameo with say Kurt Russell as Gordon would be absolutely great!:woot:
