Since they opted for an older Batman this go-around, you have to think that the Bat Family is pretty much empty-nested at this point. Jason Todd is dead, Dick Grayson is operating solo as Nightwing, and Barbara Gordon is paralyzed and now functioning as Oracle.

There is character potential for Batman here, whether it's coming to terms with Jason's death, or mending his relationship with Dick.

This would be best case scenario

I think him still trying to shadow Nightwing with Dick kind of getting sick of the backseat driver routine would be a decent little subplot.

That's one of the reasons I was so excited when they decided to go with an older Batman. Hopefully that is what they concentrate on in his solos, rather than the idea people had with his solos taking place before Man of Steel, where he's younger.

That might be the best one they've ever done.

I'd really like to see Oracle utilized.

I agree, it would give disabled people some representation on a superhero film and Oracle is great character progression for Barbara from girl to woman. :ilv:

The Long Halloween and Knightfall need to be turned into animated movies.

Long Halloween and Dark Victory are solid but incredibly overrated on just about every messageboard. There's a ton of stupid crap with the villains and Jeph Loebe rips off Godfather hardcore. There's not much originality. The only amazing stuff the two have is the artwork (the rogues don't look great though) and the writing of Dent/Gordon/Grayson. The main plot which centers around the killer/s and the Falcone's is nothing special. Fans overrated the hell out of it, especially since Nolan mentioned it years ago. Suddenly it became the coolest thing on the planet when there's better work out there. They're not on the level of Miller's early batman work. But sure, id like to see an animated version of it, why not.

i keep thinking of the new Batman series as a trilogy.

The finale needs Joker.

Maybe the first movie starts with an adaptation of ASHOSE and the first Arkham game

Number 2 could be like Under the Red Hood but with a bigger Ra's presence

number 3 culminates with the final battle between Joker and Batman, Joker learns of Bruce's identity, and Bruce finally snaps.

throughout the trilogy, we get to see the rest of Batman's rogues gallery in small roles (primarily Mr Freeze, Scarecrow, Penguin, Riddler, Two Face, Catwoman, Poison Ivy) all these characters can be done justice in small roles. It has been proven through stories like Robin Year One, TLH, Dark Victory, and Hush. They can be done justice in small supporting roles. Ra's and Joker deserve to be the major villains of the next trilogy

Hopefully we can get a trilogy. there are so many movies that the DCCU can churn out, a Batman trilogy seems like wishful thinking, but i really hope it happens
I seriously doubt we're getting more than one. Unless they recast Ben in order to do prequels at some point.

Am I in the minority of people that doesn't ever want to see Robin on the big screen in the capacity of actually venturing out with Bruce?
Robin's an annoying little ****. It's best to just show a quick flashback scene or something and leave whoever is Robin as an adult who has moved on from the role that Bruce gave him. It's the only way i can stomach Dick Grayson, Jason Todd or Tim Drake.

I can't stand Robin (traditionally speaking) or Batgirl. Let them have that past, fine, but i dont want to see it. Give me Nightwing, a dead 2nd Robin and Oracle. Carrie Kelly only works for this Miller-esque Batman but i dont really care for seeing her in the movies, in action alongside Batman. Hate that sidekick crap.

Knightfall needs to be an animated show, or a season of an animated series.

Im assuming everybody heard the Green Lantern rumor/scoop?

John Stewart is the best way to go. Im not the biggest Hal fan. He's good when paired with Barry but i dont want two comic relief characters, or one of those getting short-changed in that department. I want Flash as the only comic relief character. He has potential to be the Spider-Man of the group (Wally or Barry..don't care what name they go with for Ezra). If you add Hal and Barry, it's going to feel too much like what we're going to get with Peter and Tony Stark over at Marvel. It adds too much light to this darker, more serious version of the Justice League.

This isn't your grand-daddy's Aquaman or Superman folks. Sure i want Supes to be a little lighter than how he was in MOS, but still serious like during the important MOS scenes. Aquaman just looks like a baddass mofo and i want Green Lantern to have that attitude and size. John Stewart is the right guy for the job.

Wally/Barry and John as a duo will balance the league out. It adds a certain dynamic. It also gives us some humor between the two. The serious, bigger, badass with the younger obnoxious goofball. Flash gets serious and focused when the time calls for it, but he needs to be lighter than the rest. Ezra Miller can pull this off and that's why he was cast. Now we just need John to balance him out, not to add to that lighter style of humor. Which im afraid is what Hal would end up doing. I dont think that's good for this version of Justice League.

I read Batman Year One.

Goddamn.

Batman: Year One is an excellent book. I have it around my house somewhere. I remember buying just before Batman Begins came out, like late 2004/early 2005.

One more thing: i know he's not showing up in Batman v Superman but he is the final 7th member. What about Mahershala Ali for John Stewart??

Have you seen the movie? Both book and movie are awesome.

The long Halloween and Dark Victory work really well as the sequels to Year One

I have.

For all the **** Nolan gets, he did his own version of Year One. I gladly appreciate that. :oldrazz:
