Marvel has their brand, DC has theirs. There will be variation from movie to movie, but the there is certainly a strong sense of brand identity there, just like with the comics.

I dont want Marvel to be darker, or even more serious. I just don't care about Joss Whedon directing those movies and i also don't want them to be too campy. Winter Soldier and the first Iron Man had a great balance. Of course WS had a more serious tone but still has what makes Marvel...Marvel.

It's like how a Green Lantern movie shouldn't be made like 2011's. That was Warner Brothers trying to make some kind of Marvel movie and it didn't work. Superman and Flash shouldn't be as dark as Batman either but they need a balance. Im not interested in seeing a Flash movie because i don't care for his villains or supporting characters, but i realize that it needs to be lighter. Does it have to be ALL light though? No. I still want some serious, dark stuff. Same with Superman, just only some of the time. The light should probably outweigh the dark but you need both. Or at least i want both.

The tone of Ultron's trailers fits as a sequel. The stakes are higher and it sets up the crumbling of the Avengers. But i still don't care for the direction, or some of the characters (Hawkeye, Ultron & his faceless army (again??), Quicksilver (the dull version). Pretty sure we'll finally get the jokes when we see the full movie though.

Im sure the tone of the Batman v Superman trailers will be dark as hell with a lot of great visual treats. And that fits this universe. Once we see the movie, i hope we see the lighter side of Superman though.

The WS tone is perfect. It had its humor but still took the situation very seriously. AoU feels like that at the moment.

Since mods haven't called us out for talking about Marvel for the past 3 pages, I might as well voice an idea that I just had. I think it would be INCREDIBLE if, in the spirit of shared universes with Marvel and Sony, they teased DC as well. Doctor Strange could be showing the Avengers different universes and realities, and then Superman is shown (maybe from behind) and he says, "oops, wrong red cape," and switches to another reality.
It would be the biggest event in movie history if Marvel and DC shared the big screen, and a tease like that would benefit both companies.

That could be amazing. I could also see something happening low key. Like Doctor Strange has artifacts from the different universes and one of them is a copy of the Daily Planet that's only on screen for two seconds.

We've already waited about one year and 7 months since it was announced at Comic Con that Batman v Superman would be coming out. Waiting for 3-4 more months isn't going to be that bad for pictures/news/footage for this film.

I agree. Henry Jackman's score for TWS was awesome too. Probably my fav Marvel movie score so far.

The trailer will come out in April at the absolute earliest. Probably May is what we are looking at. WB might hold off until the last possible second.
