I was thinking, they could make the Joker's smile ripped, open cuts. Like Jonah Hex without the skin in the middle (not the one from the movie that looks like just a hole). Also similar to the Joker in the Arkham games, but more visibly ripped.

I trust that it's possible to do with makeup.

So just because Marvel beat's them to using like minded characters WB should say forget it? Lets' not use similar characters for fear of saying we're copying when the DC characters came first.

Like minded characters? That's what you would call Brainiac with the avatar and robot dones, or Darksied? Like minded?
If all you took from what I said was that it's worth avoiding simply because it's similar than perhaps you should give it a second read. I said that was one of various deterrents.

My point however, was that there has to be better options than simply always using some pool of options. Imagine for two seconds that there were only two options for villains in the dcu and one of them wasn't all that compelling. Are the producers really then relegated to choosing from the pool or can they not explore the option to create something amazing on their own?
I bring up batman because at this point when it comes to the movies, the only options seem to be something that has been done in the past, and then 10 years later after every villain has been done twice, it will still be about choosing from the pool?
This is something I enjoy about Morrison, often times just coming up with great villains and adding to the mythology. Like I said, choosing from the pool has it's benefits but it's not the only way to go. Especially when you have deterrents.

Especially when it comes to the two I mentioned.

His mouth isn't "ripped" in any of the arkham games.

I'd rather they stay away from cut/ripped or scarred smiles this time.

(Lex Luthor, Cheetah, Black Manta, Captain Cold, Sinestro, Gorilla Grodd)

- Darkseid
- Vandal Savage
- Ra's Al Ghul
- Maxwell Lord
- Anti-Monitor

Aside from them, I don't think there are a lot of options. This is pretty much the cream of the crop.
