Bruce retires as Batman.

Man of Steel Events.

Bruce comes out of retirement to deal with the potential threat of "Superman" aged around 42.

I don't remember anyone saying Batman is in retirement. He's just a little older and experienced. Did I miss something?

Trains extensively for years in various martial arts, criminology etc...

Becomes Batman around aged 28-30..

Takes in Dick Grayson who's parents are murdered and he becomes Robin.

Grayson leaves and becomes Nightwing in Bludhaven.

Jason Todd becomes the 2nd Robin.

Todd is murdered by the Joker. Joker is locked up in Arkham Asylum along with Harley Quinn. Quinn is later moved to Belle Reve and inducted into the Suicide Squad.

Bruce retires as Batman.

Man of Steel Events.

Logical guesses but these details are nowhere to be found. If you're rounding up the rumors, these aren't.

The Bruce being retired thing is probably not happening. It was a early rumor and could have been a part of Goyers first draft but i think it's gone now. He will most likely be a mid 40s Batman, active for the last 15 to 20 years. But more in the shadows compared to Bale's Batman when he was doing his thing during TDK and TDKR.

Who is this Madden? What's his reputation for rumors?

Landis had a very interesting concept for a Death of Superman cinematic adaptation, but it was so balls-to-the-wall crazy it came off more like a fanboy wet dream rather than a natural progression of the DCCU.

Regardless, the boy is incredibly passionate of the genre and would be a fresh voice for the series. I'd at least be curiously excited for what he could bring.

Why compare?

John Wick made you enjoy and feel for an assassin, with something as simple as a dog.

MOS couldn't get you to like or feel anything about Clark Kent, even with overly dramatic scenes, love interest, dead parents, lone wolf syndrome, destiny stuff, and sad childhood... with twice the runtime to boot.

Don't even get me started on the action and world building.
