I think that Dick was only 8 when he died and that he really never got to be Robin. I think Bruce adopted him but soon after he was killed and quite possibly in a home invasion attack resulting in the manor being destroyed. And it hurt so bad he never rebuilt it.

sorry say that but i expected something more impressive for the first teaser of one of the most antecipated movie of all time, i dont know if this kind of tone is the right thing to do, WB must think if this movie fail every DCCU is in trouble, and like you or not, the GA dont want to go to the cinema to see a superhero movie so serious, or any kind of entertaining movie like this, i loved the trailer , but we are fans, see the success of FF7, marvel, and others entertaining movies, they have humor, if BVS will be so serious i doubt it will be more sucessfull than MOS was, sorry for my bad english by the way.

I don't understand this notion that dark, serious or humorless (I doubt there won't be humor in this) automatically equals not entertaining/will fail at the box office.

Hunger Games, Skyfall, The entire Batman Nolan Trilogy, Harry Potter etc have done fine despite their dark tone.

I dont think so. Like i said, too many rumors from multiple sources that say Robin's old suit is in a case and Joker killed him.

It's not. I genuinely think (if this is true) that like Nolan and Bale, Zack isn't a Robin fan.

But surely he understands how important Bat family is? Alfred, Oracle, Nightwing... for starters. I can't imagine another universe with just him and Alfred, especially now that they're doing DCU.

Scott Snyder's New 52 is the way to go about Batman world atm.

I just noticed that those soldiers that bowed before Superman are wearing \S/ on their sleeves.

There are as much people who want to see a serious CB movie, as those who want to watch family friendly one! You don't like the tone - don't watch it. Simple as that.

The tone of this film is not dark for the sake of it. The events of the film and how each character is affected by the events automatically translates into a dark tone.

Oracle isn't as important as you're making her out to be. Maybe Oracle is there, or Carrie Kelly's Robin. Dick Grayson existed and they're using him in a very strong way to add to Bruce's suffering and for why he is getting so violent. It also creates a better build up for when Joker and Batman meet.

I like Nightwing, but i dont have to see him. I dont like Jason Todd and have no interest in seeing the Red Hood. The multiple Robin angle in the comics gets to be too much and so im down with this whole Dick Grayson killed at 8 idea.

I love the idea of Batman being old with Alfred and Robin has died, maybe Gordon is dead or retired. It's sending Batman over the edge. I love it. I hope Gordon is alive though.

If that thing transforms then there are no words for the level of excitement I will have.

i think you dont understand, i loved the teaser and i loved the serious movies too, i am not talking about this, but the most criticism about MOS is about to be so serious and it effected a lot in THe Boxoffice numbers, many people who i know didnt like that tone and many others even saw the movie because that, its only my point. of course the movie can be a enormous success, but i am just afraid only this.

The first teaser for TDK was literally just a bat symbol graphic with a Joker voiceover.

This teaser actually showed MORE than I thought it would.

Far too many times people on this very board have expressed their aversion to the character, as far as film adaptations go.

It's like the secret deformed relative you keep in the attic. He's been part of the family since its inception, and everyone tries to ignore him.

It still did well. And if anything, they didnt like the tone because it didn't match what they had in their heads for a Superman movie. Batman is in this now.

People love seeing dark movies in the cinema, just as much as they like seeing Avengers or Furious 7. Box-office will be fine with these two giants.

No matter what your friends felt, tone doesn't get butts in the seats unless it's a super goofy take on a comic book character in this modern era (which will certainly make people go UGHH). It's the character, story and if it looks cool or interesting.

If you're suggesting that this is supposed to be Wayne Manor then I don't see it. Batman is wearing the same suit that he's using in his fight with Superman. I think that building that Batman and Superman is in front of looks similar to one of the locations that they used.

a theory:
i think this movie draws from both The Dark Knight and Kingdom Come.
I think we'll see a Superman uncomfortable with his place in the world. I think we'll see Superman that the public has mixed reactions to.
I think we'll see Superman save people in Corto Maltese and they decide to rebel against the government in the name of Superman.

This could also be something manufactured by Lex.

We'll also see a Batman that becomes brutal
after The death of Robin
.

Yes. And I can't wait to see why.

I posited a couple of times yesterday that maybe these are Colonel Hardy's remaining men.... backing up Supes cause they know he's not our enemy.

I never got anyone's response to that.... so I guess it was either a bad theory or nobody noticed my posts.

Has it been discussed why the army guys wear a Superman emblem on their shoulders?
