I had a good time at the IMAX teaser event. The line was super cool cuz off course everybody is a fan. I met a dude, big guy, tatts, that works at FORBIDDEN PLANET, the comic book store in Manhattan. He takes out his phone and shows me and the other people around us a picture of him and Ezra Miller. Turns out Miller had been to FP to pick up anything Flash related for research.
Lmao holy crap, Krypton! That was you!?! I was standing and talking to you for quite a while before he walked up. Had no idea you were a fellow hypester!

Yeah, that was me. I actually wanted to have like a poster that ID'd myself as a Hypester so that other NYC Hypesters could meet. It's funny cuz I liked that you actually wanted to talk. The people in front of me were super standoffish. I mean... It's a line pal, we're gonna be here for a while, let's make this fun. But nope... So it was nice talking to another fan and being cordial, which is hard to do a lot of the time online. Honestly, it's hard to get out the full nuance and context of what we mean in these forums. It leads to a lot of problems.

I hope we meet again when it comes time for the sneak peek. I may just take a day off of work to get a place in line so I can secure a good seat.

I am starting to think that when it comes to expectations of what this plot, and characterization is going to be like, that this may not be the grand clash of differing world views and ideologies that we are waiting to see. I think (outside of my "Visions/Bizzaro" theory, of course ;) ) that the film is going to be much more straight forward. I think that's why the "leaked plots" feel off to me. I think they aren't KISS enough. So too with some expectation of "deep" themes. I don't have that expectation anymore. I think that while this will strive for "mature entertainment" it will still be mostly about "ENTERTAINMENT", more so than even the action filled MOS. I think it will be plot driven, with well defined, vivid and entertaining characters, especially if ARGO is anything to go by.

Yep, I find it really hard to talk to some fans and (as much as I hate the term)..."casuals," about these movies. They just don't get it. They don't really understand the significance of this piece of history they're about to witness. Heck, most don't even know that the trinity has never been together on the big screen.

What drives me crazy the most are fans that try to convince you that the random rumor their friend told them about is completely true. Then others around you believe them and don't even bother to fact check before spreading them further.

Long story short....meeting up with hypesters irl is a must. Too bad most of us live so far apart! But hey, I'm going to all four days of NYCC this fall, so let's all get together! We'll camp out the DC panels together and actually have good conversation, haha!

Fans have it pretty good today, that there's not the appreciation that they should have that they have so much product to nitpick over in the first place. :cwink:

That's kind of sad in a way. You know what, though? The people who grew up with and are truly invested in the development of these characters full well grasp the significance of what we're seeing unfold now; and there are plenty of us out there! So, it's all good.

I would want him for GL Corps. You want to wash off the bad taste of that last Gl film? You get the guy who just brought back Mad Max to life.

The problem I see there is GL is probably going to be a space opera and Millers work seems better suited to earth based stuff. I dunno I'm probably not explaining myself very well, I know just because he hasn't done a film like GL that doesn't mean he can't but I wonder if he would be out if his comfort zone.

He did Happy Feet and one of those Babe (pig movie). The guy can do anything. :oldrazz:

The same man that brought us THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER, THE ROAD WARRIOR, HAPPY FEET and BABE has the range to do a sci fi space opera. He's handled CGI special effects before FURY ROAD.

Ok something I literally just thought if so its bound to be a load of shizz but what if Superman is been mind controlled St the end (hence the disgusted look at Luthor) and he fights Batman and Wonder Woman. Now what if the man controlling him works with Luthor and its Maxwell Lord played by Scoot McNairy who was injured in the Superman vs Zid battle and wants revenge? So in other words we have no idea he's a meta until the end.

Probably bollocks but it's a theory I'm throwing out there :oldrazz:

I'll smoke to this anyway.

Hmm... I likey... I likey very much. Max Lord being involved would be the only way I would forgive mind control. That would be intriguing and help to open up the world. Hell... It could REALLY help to set up JL. I ain't abandoning my theory just yet but I like this one a lot.

Thanks, maybe they could explain Lord's mind powers by saying Lex did experiments on certain people.

I myself have toyed with this idea, though I will admit that I don't like "Unified Field Theories of Super Heroes" in most of my live action adaptations. What if the crashing of the Scout Ship is a key catalyst to the emergence of heroes and villains, and I mean outside of the magical ones or the ones that are Batman like, mostly normal people that wear extravagant clothing and have deep seated psychological quirks.

No, I mean the majority of the pure "Meta Humans". The Scout Ship was essentially one gigantic, space faring genetic engineering lab from a planet of alien humanoids that exactly resemble us. So I am thinking, it was filled to the brim with all manner of exotic materials the Kryptonians used in their birthing process. Things, chemicals, nano machines, strange medications, all used for the Kryptonians to engineer their perfect fetuses. That just crashed in the middle of a populated city, in what was a disaster area. That ship was probably open to the outside environment for a long time before either Superman or the government could reasonably remove it and it's contents from the scene.

So assuming Superman has this thing and brought it somewhere, he'd still need to carry it or pieces of it to wherever he is storing it. It's possible that there could be nano contaminants that are then spread over a nice chunk of the U.S. if not the globe given air currents. Let's say the result is a small amount of the world wide population now primed for a genetic deviation. Meaning Barry Allen under normal circumstances would have been fried by that lightning bolt, but after exposure to these Kryptonian contaminates he instead goes through an incredible genetic change which helps him to survive the event. So now there is a population of people out there that WILL survive some unlikely happenstance, like being in an exploding nuclear blast or getting exposed to harmful radiation, because their genetic structure has been altered due to something from the Scout Ship leaking into the environment. In a way, Superman would truly be the cause of all super heroes. A character like Max Lord wouldn't have survived say a brain tumor until he was exposed, and then he would developed telepathic control powers.
