Fine, I'll expand on that a little more. I am fully aware that emotion is a big factor in Bruce being Batman, the drive and determination from his parents death. What I don't like is when he's written as unhinged, where his emotions are getting the better of him. I don't like that particular take on the character because it sometimes makes him look no better than the criminals he's facing, and frankly I want the character to be better than that. I hope that's sufficient.

Well, you're not getting your Batman until the end of the movie- or ever in this cinematic universe with that kind of attitude.

Here's the thing, he's being rational. To allow a being whom at the drop of hat can decide the fate of the whole world live and go on is a dicey call. He is angry, but also makes a very good point. Sure, he seems to be over-exaggerating on the matter from our POV, but look at it from his; he doesn't know this Superman, he has had a long and difficult life according to Snyder, and he just saw him level half a city killing thousands. Can you really say this Batman is irrational? Its not as clear cut as you make it seem. Hell, for all we know, he might have been a more controlled Batman you love so much at some point, but people don't stay the same their whole life.

Sure it does. He wants to intimidate criminals, so he dresses up as a boogeyman. He's no crazier than any other hero.

Again: even if you think the idea is crazy, that doesn't mean that the man, himself, is. Bungee jumping is crazy, but perfectly normal people do it everyday.

And he's been written differently for just as long. Sometimes within the same periods, as other writers come on and leave their stamp on the character.

Um, I'm not. I thought it was obvious I was detailing my own personal preferences for how the character should be portrayed.

I think if Batman were NORMAL, he would just move on, or seek therapy, or take up a hobby.

The phrase 'over prepared' is the best way to describe Bruces motivations here. He couldn't live with himself if he wasn't prepared to stop a being that had a helping hand in the metropolis destruction, just the same as he's prepared to launch a protocol to topple all gang organizations In Gotham over the course of 24 hours like in 'war games'.
It was a wreckless plan that was never meant to be used but it was one Bruce thought up because he was prepared to do anything.

True, but Batman does seem pretty synonymous with anger and he is pretty renowned for it. However I see where you're coming from, he's supposed to be older and wiser I.E. A thinker who is very calculated and not a red hot rookie who gets emotional. But I have to say that if an alien came and leveled a city during a brawl with another alien, it could rattle someone even of Batman's caliber.

The thing I ask myself with this film is - am I suppose to cheer for anyone in it? We have two of the most famous superheroes in the world here, two characters I respect greatly. Superman is not a bad person, I already know this due to MoS, so this is automatically casting Batman in a bad light, and the more I see it the more as a Batman fan I dislike that portrayal.

I'm a Batman guy through and through, I've seen countless variations over the years in various mediums, some I like some, I don't like. The one thing for certain is there isn't one particular take on the character, and what I feel from reading in here is that some people seem to think there is only one.

Same could've been said for superman about 2 years ago. I know how that went.

Kinda urprised to see these sorts of debates start up already however. Knew they were coming but still.

What? You think because I'm not sold on what it's presented to me so far I still don't want to see it? Believe it or not, I actually want this film to be good, but my skepticism comes from the last film and the person in charge of this one and the footage released to date.
