The Parademons being in the Superman dictator future could be inspired by Superman #3.

Maybe Superman is Darkseid's brainwashed slave.

That costume... my eyes! I'm about to experience the ending of Raiders of the Lost Ark first hand.

Is there any reason about his origin that means he has to look that way? I am not saying he can't, I am saying that he has to?

I have no idea, this film made his origin that made from Zod's body. There probably isn't anything saying he HAS to look like that. But they probably thought that he should look like that. Since he was made from his body. Which would make sense.

You know during the holiday season there are probably toys coming out that would have spoiled Doomsday no matter what.

Look, I don't like green screen and unnecessary CGI when it could've been done with practical effects (I love practical effects, real places etc), but for something like this, can you really do it any other way ?

As much crap as Michael Bay gets, he's proven that big visual action set pieces can be done by planning well and blending in traditional shots with CGI elements.

You may not like the film (Personally I love Transformers 07 but abhor the sequels), but you have to admit that this sequence is technically brilliant.

The same way Star Wars has Snoke and Luke Skywalker toys? :cwink:

Superman cant really pull of the frilly leather jockstrap and stripper boots.

They've basically spoilt the movie's entire three-act structure. That's a little bit like spoiling Ra's Al Ghul's return and his plan for Gotham City in "Batman begins" trailers. Cool stuff shown in a very bad trailer. Very dissapointed with Warner Bros.' marketing team. Oh, well...

The negativity from DC fans is sad really - there's enough of that from Marvel trolls!
People moaning about Doomsday –*it was bloody obvious from the outset that Superman and Batman were not fighting each other in the later clips from the first trailer – everyone on here said so... we also knew that because of Zod's corpse being shown it would be a Bizarro type clone or Doomsday... so why are you all moaning?
The Age of Ultron trailers and TV spots pretty much give you the whole film if you watch them, yet that film seemed to do know wrong!
Maybe it's just me, but it seems like people are determined to bash the DCEU regardless... Personally I loved the trailer and really can't wait for March to coe around now! :woot:

I'm not a DC basher ( I don't think in terms of DC vs. Marvel, that's not how my mind works), and I hate when any kind of trailer spoils the entire movie. I don't have a problem with Doomsday being in the movie. I have a problem just showing him like this in the trailer, and already showing the 'resolution' of the "Batman V Superman" part of the movie. They could've cut this trailer (very) differently to not have it seem like a 3-minute recap of the entire movie. This reminds me so much of the "Terminator Genisys" trailer debacle, and I'd think the guys on this would be much smarter than Paramount on a subpar movie. I'm still looking forward to this (heck, I liked "Man of Steel"), but right now I hate Warner Bros. for cutting the trailer like this (and myself for watching it, thinking that they would be smarter than that). And you know why? BECAUSE I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOVIE.

We are aloud to have our opinions. I honestly think I've said like...3 things that I wasn't the happiest about with this movie up until now. But this trailer just kicked me in the nads.

1. That is the point. That is why you don't show what he looks like. I am not even talking about speculation, because I am not a big fan of it. What I am talking about anticipating seeing Doomsday for the first time as a fan, while the none fans are shocked by the third act not being Superman and Batman taking down Lex.

2. Wonder Woman was never a spoiler, as they said she was in the film and have marketed her as a part of this film for a good while now.

3. You are confusing a plot twist with playing with audience expectations. Oh my Zod, who is that beast. That is the reaction I am talking about.

1. So it's OK to show Wonder Woman in action but a proto Doomsday is off limits... :hehe: They wanted to reveal that some kind of monster is in the film. Geeks will recognize it as Doomsday and be thrilled (or not). The GA are meant to be intrigued. Wheter that works or not is up to each individual.

2. If it's in the officially released trailer, it's not really a spoiler, is it? They want you to see it. You can consider it a spoiler but it's highly debatable.

3. Uh, what? Really, I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. It seems like you're assuming a lot about how the creature will be shown before the third act.

Honestly would have expected Snyder would have made Doomsday look cooler. He doesn't look horny enough, lol, especially on his face.

Doomsday looks like the recent Teenage Ninja Ninja Turtles and the Abomination from the Incredible Hulk had sex and gave birth to...ugh.

Or it's how Michael Shannon's motion capture face as Doomsday turned out to look like. Ugh.

Everything else...looks epic. Still pumped about Doomsday and open to it, despite his face, and as long as the third act isn't The Death of Superman-to be continued in Justice League, then I will be really disappointed.

Eisenberg said his Luthor wouldn't be silly...he's every bit and way more silly than Hackman's Luthor. Hackman's Luthor I could tolerate. He's a joke. I'll try to be more open about it. Also, John Shea's Lex wasn't exactly the same as the Luthor from the comics. He was more Richard the III and in some ways more evil I think, and had an evil laughter.

Or is this Luthor Jr? Still...why? He at least looks like he serves some purpose in the film and seems like a plausible villain. But seriously though, I've put a lot of trust in Snyder as he is comic book fan...but this Lex? Oh my God, I'll pick Spacey over Eisenberg any day of the week.

Hope Lois kicks some ass in this movie. In the preview released the day before, I thought Batman's cowl looked amazing in every single shot. In this trailer though, I think it looks off here and there, then looks great again in other shots. His head just looks very big in some shots like when he looks at Superman saying "I thought she was with you."

Great trinity shot. Still, couldn't they have Superman be in the center of the trinity occasionally? He is the honorary hero after all. I get that maybe the reason why they are not putting Superman in the center of the trinity is to avoid people raging all over the internet about who should be in the center- Batman or Superman? In the JLA animated series, created by Batman fans themselves, no one, even Batman fans seemed to complain that Superman was in the center (in the opening credits) of the Justice League when they were lined up.

Looks CGI heavy, but I can pass on it because on the whole it looks pretty spectacular. Superman looks boss. This is a Superman I've been waiting to see. We heard him say more than five sentences in a matter of few seconds. Supes saying "Stay down! If wanted, you'd be dead already!"

Even though he did speak in Man of Steel, it still felt limited. Most memorable Supermanish lines he said were like "Don't play games with me, General." "You're a monster Zod, and I'm going to stop you." All in all though, it still felt limited.

In this trailer it looks like he has so much more to do in terms of lines.

Tell that to "Terminator Genisys" (despite the movie sucking). The John Connor twist happens fairly early in the movie, but some things shouldn't be spelled out and spoilt in the trailers.

But of course people on forums don't have a problem with that, considering they spent lots of time trying to get spoiler and information about how things will pan out (because for some reason they have to know how stuff is done before being in the theater - WAIT, for God's sake, you're gonna get all of your questions answered once you sit in that damn theater - but well, anyone has their own habits).

I would think people would be happy to finally know what the 'physical villian' is, since I can't count the number of times over the past year I've seen comments like "why don't they just tell us who it is?", and endless arguments over who it could be.

But the JC bit is actually a plot twist for that franchise. Doomsday is not.

And it's always the die-hard nerds who post on forums who angrily want to know stuff like that. And they're gonna watch the movie anyway. So I don't get it. Who cares if a bunch of whiney guys can't wait until the movie to find out "who the 'physical villain' is." Ugh, studios should stop pandering so much to fans. They're the ones who are gonna see the movie anyway.

Anyone else kind of worried for Bruce at the end of that trailer? I mean it's F'ng Doomsday Bruce! Get your ass out of there man!

It's not that huge of a plot twist, considering that it doesn't really change anything that's happened to the franchise before. It's pretty much just a villain reveal for that one movie. Just like Doomsday. It's ridiculous how pointless that preview from the other day now has become, considering that the trailer pretty much spells out "Batman and Superman fight, they then understand that they don't need to, and in the end unite to fight a monster - Doomsday - which was created by using, amongst others, General Zod's DNA. And for the final fight Wonder Woman joins our favorite superheroes to fight the monster." And they even show it in chronological order. It's a damn recap.

Seems like the BatJet gets taken down, or he lands it, and the fight resumes for him on the ground. I'm guessing Batman shoots from a Kryptonite based gun, laying cover fire while Superman and Wonder Woman physically fight Doomsday.

Unfortunately Silly Cat, when it comes to many things superhero, a lot of comic fans are very much Grumpy Cat.

I honestly think people are over exaggerating when they say that this trailer showed the whole movie.

  • We don't know anything about the senate scene with superman
  • We don't know anything about Victor Stones role in this film
  • We don't know what puts both Batman & Superman to the point of fighting
  • We don't know who Scoot Mcnairy is playing (or the other guy)
  • We don't know anything about Aquaman's role in this
  • What is Swanwick and is groups role in this? ect.
As stated by others this trailer showed us nothing anyone with common sense couldn't guess. I think people will eventually get over the knee jerk reaction an calm down.

Also about Doomsday's look, are people forgetting that this isn't the regular Doomsday from Krypton (like the comics) but one that was created by Lex from Zod's body.Of course his face would look humanoid is like it does.

All very good points

Have people forgotten we're supposed to see Cyborg and Aquaman in some capacity in this film? We still don't know Callan Mulvey's role either, and let's stop for a second and think we've been shown all there is to be seen in this 3 minutes.
