^ When Snyder has creative control (300/Watchmen) he makes it like the comic up to the shot compositions.
MOS was not Snyder's fault-except that it was well directed ;)

There's never been an adaptation of the Justice League that hasn't featured Green Lantern, and those reasons are at least a small part of it. To have the big screen debut of the Justice League omit Green Lantern just feels wrong
Ignoring the initial aversion to such a revision, you don't think saving GL for a future 'phase' lends itself to a more mature DCEU in the long run? It can simultaneously revitalize audience interest as well as open up creative avenues to explore once the initial members are well established.

Given the current timeline, I wouldn't be comfortable with GL showing up so soon. Not because of the failure of the last GL movie (though that factors in), but he can easily get lost in the shuffle of these other brand new superheroes.

Well let's keep it this way guys, there's been a lot given away about the hero fight, Lex, cameos, etc. but we're still short of info on the final act. This doomsday battle could be one of the most visually stunning things we've ever seen and we have no idea who's making it out alive.

Sure but he isn't the final say, I would trust Synder or Terrio's word over anything the other trustees would say

Sorry for the double post but I'm on a tablet.

Roven is part of the brain trust and Silverman is the WB executive most closely in collaboration with the brain trust. That means they are part of the decision making process. It's not just Snyder and Terrio. On Green Lantern, it is just as much an executive decision as it is a creative decision, perhaps more so. WB determines the slate.

So you should definitely take their word for it.

I had the same thoughts with MOS as we had about the same amount of footage shown for the climax. Unfortunately that last fight left me underwhelmed, so I'll be tempering my expectations here.

That's very true. We'll see how it all turns out. Just gotta stick to the official releases and info rather than leaks and rumors

The key that I see to making this omission now pay off big later, is to make sure that the GLC's involvement with the League, and perhaps even the existence of human Lanterns, possibly multiple, be an example escalation.

The initial JL line-up is an Earth based alliance, albeit with one refugee member from another planet. I'd say that making it clear that The Guardians are worried about continued activity in the Sector as a reason for GL's membership is smart. Not to say that you couldn't have Scott or Stewart already as veteran members of the GLC, but maybe show them actually patrolling and focus on the Sector's issues. That way you don't end up with a galactic peacemaker getting into a fight with bar hoodlums in New Orleans/Coast City.

So now that we know Green Lantern's been benched, who is the 7th? I'm not buying Mera. Not against it, but I think she'll be in the Aquaman movie with a couple cameos in the universe and that's it.

RadioSha I thought you left? It's ok, I quit the hype like 5 times today

BvS Instagram just tweeted that pic from earlier. Incredible

Green Lantern.
Just not until the second movie. :oldrazz:

Well there were rumors about Black Canary being in Justice League. She'd be a good seventh. Mera is cool but she might be a bit redundant for the first movie. Plus they could have her be the one who runs things in Atlantis while Aquaman does his super hero thing

I'm down with more female JL members. I wouldn't mind Zatanna thrown in there as well.

Jesus I was trying to catch up in here from where I left off yesterday and it's nearly an entire 1000 post thread. Fudge it. I've seen enough potential spoilers. I'm out. Non spoiler thread only until I see this beast.

I'm all for getting as many characters on the screen as possible. I'd love to see Martian Manhunter, Black Canary, Zatanna, Green Arrow, the Atom, the Hawks, Firestorm, Captain Atom, Vixen, and a lot more make the jump to the big screen.

Heck if Katana survives Suicide Squad, which I hope, and Supergirl shows up in MOS 2, which I hope, throw them in there too

I don't really get the appeal of Shazam...
