Thank you! I won't get to it until the morning (a migraine had to hit almost immediately after posting that *sigh*), which means we might be on part 271 by the time I've finished reading it all... :hehe:

But thanks anyways!

Hey! I love spoilers. Always have... :o

Yup those two are premier badasses. My line up with include the three of them including Ivy, with Killer Frost, Cheetah, and Boomerang. Maybe combine it with the Green Arrow Supermax concept. Have a few more red shirts who get killed and at the end of the movie it turns out Lex Luthor helped break them out to form his Legion of Doom. Green Arrow escapes to join the League and Boomerang gets left behind :p
Yes yes yes yes I really want Green Arrow/Supermax to be the basis of the next Suicide Squad movie, that's a brilliant idea

They're not major spoilers. It's not like it'll reveal the ending or anything crazy like that. There's one that could be considered one, but I don't even think it's that big.

It was tongue-in-cheek. :oldrazz:

It's not unrealistic either, these movies are all gonna be strongly interconnected, and I wouldn't be surprised if the brain trust thought about integrating Supermax and Suicide Squad together.

It'd be a great way to introduce Green Arrow and the Legion of Doom

I say we wait until a line up of formidable villains actually EXISTS in the DCEU to be used for a LoD/Secret Society, since any criminals that can be kept in line by Amanda Waller are actually NOT prime recruits for the super villain team that is supposed to take on the JL. Seems a disservice to any and all characters.

If they did a live action Legion of Doom in this universe, would they actually call themselves anything or would they just be an unnamed group of villains united under a single cause?

The Legion sounds pretty badass enough.

"So that's it, huh? We're some kind of Legion of Doom?"

I could see them being called the LoD or The Secret Society.

I remember a BTS featurette on the NEW FRONTIER two disc set where a scholar talked about how the old meaning of the word "doom" meant "Judgement". I can see them thinking of themselves as group passing judgement on the heroes of the League. A "secret society" if you will that will undermine the Leaguer's goals and what they stand for at every turn.

I guess it's way too early to tell but I'm trying to imagine any of the villains caring enough about the aesthetic or details of the organization part. They'll be all about the mission. "I don't like you but I'll work with you to destroy the JL."
"What do we call ourselves?"
"...what?"
"You know, like our team name."
"Why would we have a team name?"

I don't necessarily care either way as long as it works.

Fundamentally that is indeed always an issue with most Super Villain teams, especially the "all star" ones. LoD, Masters of Evil, ect.

Get Superman, Batman, GL, Wonder Woman, Flash and Aquaman in a room together and despite the egos and personalities involved they at the end of the day want the same thing, to protect the planet from super human threats and to uphold the laws of man and God in some way shape or form, yes, even Batman.

Get Lex Luthor, Ra's Al Ghul, Sinestro, Circe, Zoom and Black Manta in a room together and the elimination of the heroes is about the only thing those maniacs could agree on.

That said... The backstabbing, jockeying and character clashes would be so great to see play out on the big screen with such a group.

Thats the thing though, I agree but my idea would have them actively try to escape and undermine Waller, the big heavy hitters would break out before letting Waller walk over them.

And if the lineup includes Black Adam, Sinestro, Grodd, and Ocean Master the Legion wouldn't have to be just an anti-league organization. They could be a full on "take over the world" group, a super villain cooperative organization like the Secret Society in the DCAU. They band together to help each other commit crimes and rule the world, that would be just as cool as a team formed to destroy the League imo

Oh yeah. I've been hesitant on the LoD in the past because of the potential to seem contrived(now I'm more open to it) but I would love to see some villain interaction.
We're getting it in SS on a certain scale. But the likes of Lex, Sinestro and Zoom interacting...oh mam. It could be quite fresh on the big screen.

Again though... They have to be established first or else it's an anemic bunch given the only villains we know of NOW (some of whom may or may not even make it out of the films they are appearing in, well, alive. :cwink: ) and again, it sort of undermines the villains in the first place if Waller can keep them, empowered "gods" some of them are, AT ALL. Like, that's how huge a threat Black Adam or Grodd are. They are beyond Waller or her ilk to deal with even for a little while in my estimation. It's why the Squad isn't made up, at least usually, with super villains that are on the level of a Zoom or a Circe. They are just beyond Belle Reve's ability to handle. Plus they need time to let their backstories and characters develop and sink in with the audience or else in a film featuring the LoD they would come off as nothing more than colorful "hench" types. Let's wait for the solo hero films to introduce the bad guys I say. There isn't really a "need" to use a SS film just to set up the LoD.

Well I suppose that the SS film is going to be instructive in a few ways as to how viable "villain centric" films can be. Thing is for these charcters to resonate I feel they need to be fleshed out against their opposite heroic number. So, it may be in fact aways away until we see a LoD in the JL films. Though... As a background story running through a few of the DCEU films culminating in a JL film or films... Okay... Maybe... Again though it requires a nice slice of DC villain heavy hitters that the audience would have been invested in.

I don't see LoD happening. .....and if it does it sure as hell won't be called the LoD lol

I would say that's a poor bet as the Legion Of Doom has a certain amount of pop culture visibility even to this day. People in the fan community and without know the name. They want to turn around Aquaman's public image... I think they want to do the same with the LoD. And we all know in our heart of hearts... The Legion of Doom as a name is no less "comic booky" than title The Justice League.

I can't totally guarantee that we will see them but counting the possibility out so offhandedly seems short sighted to me. We have yet to have in a super hero film the ALL STAR super hero group face off against the ALL STAR super villain team made up of the marquee named villains of the opposite number heroes. Unless Marvel gives us the Masters sometime soon, this would be a different type of movie for a super hero team film.

I posted this in the wrong all things thread lol

Anyone?

Does anyone know when SFX #272 is out? As in the paper format version I've checked WH Smith and Morrisons but they still have the old one. Also does anyone know if you get the DVD with it or if that's a subscription thing?
