That's why fans this time around should just wait for the early fan screening. There will be a lot more "truthful" opinions given the built-in division.

Definitely. I remember I was so jacked for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 that it took a couple of days for its terribleness to sink in.

I'm the opposite. I often come away feeling disappointed if my expectations are too high.

Early reactions this coming tuesday should give us a taste on how folks view the film, good or bad.

Hope someone here could compare that too Man of Steel's early reactions.

I tend to take early reactions with a grain of salt. Fans come out acting like it's the second coming, and haters act like it's the worst insult to their honor. And it tends to be in the form of uninformative tweets due to embargoes. Not that I don't read the reactions. I will, but I won't take them to heart.

What about tweets from professionals like Struckman, Frosty or Campea etc?

For me it kind of depends. Like I was slightly disappointed by Deadpool because I was expecting something that was off-the-wall unconventional.

Frosty is the only professional in that sentence that matters.

Stuckmann is a fanboy/pseudo-critic and Campea is some weird lizard person.

We lost quite a few good posters here as a result of the reactions for TASM2. I hope history doesn't repeat itself here.

So by Tuesday there will be another influx of people on reddit/IMDB//4chan saying they've seen the movie?

They all loved MOS, so I don't care for their opinions on this movie. :o

Genuinely I'm curious of people who were disappointed in MOS, but don't hold a grudge, so I can take their review at face value.

Stuckmann is a fanboy agreed. But he is the most objective in terms of filmmaking on YT amongst the screenjunkies lot. You can count on him to give a fair assessment.

Give us some names in the professional critics circle that fall into that category.

Bat-burgers on that menu? With a side of Superfries?

Those are expensive as hell. But then again, how many bats do you got to kill to have enough meat for a burger? Even a White Castle slider. Heck I bet it would take like a dozen of those huge fruit bats.

I will never get the Campea hate. The guy is so middle of the road milquetoast 90% of the time. I wish he was more opinionated.

If I come across their tweets Ill read them, but otherwise I'm not too concerned with any of the early tweets.

I went to RT immediately after reading this to see what all the top critics thought, and I was surprised to see Richard Corliss (RIP), Todd McCarthy, and Christopher Orr liked it.

I guess a reaction to be looking for may be from Variety, from Scott Foundas, Peter Debruge, or Justin Chang. I think all three were disappointed with the movie. It's funny cause I attended a talk by Debruge at my school and Debruge made it clear he hated the last act haha.

Mark Kermode is one of the few reviewers I'll always watch/listen to. Very succinct with his thoughts and I never get the impression he plays favorites.

Deadpool, to me, felt like an extended version of the trailers we had already seen. I was hoping for something a little more expansive.

So he's one of those critics that loved the first two acts of the film but hated the 3rd act during the battle of metropolis?

Because i've notice that a vast majority of those on RT that gave Man of Steel a rotten review did so on the similar grounds of Debruge, loving the first two acts but hating the 3rd act.

Which makes me think about that mini review that Anthony Breznican of Entertainment Weekly gave a few days back:

If you loved Man of Steel but not the end --BvS may redeem that.

In other words the final 3rd act of the film which many critics including Debruge hated, might turn the other cheek during Batman v Superman's 3rd act and like the ending as satisfactory to the point of giving it a fresh review on RT.

Kermode may not play favorites or what have you... But he's just such a pretentious fop to me. I honestly think that the only reason he has a following is because he's so catty in his criticisms and appearances. He's only slightly better than Armond White was.

No question he has an air of superiority about him, but if it comes from a place of knowledge and experience (which it is), I don't hold it against him. As long as the review itself follows a logic and well meaning stance, I'll always appreciate the input.

No, Debruge disliked the whole film and claims he dozed off a couple of times. Hopefully Terrio's script will alleviate that issue.

On second thought, maybe Debruge isn't the best person to be listening to. He criticized Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy for some reasons I think are kind of dumb and doesn't quite get the appeal of Superman. A link to his and Chang's opinions is below.
