I've had 3 BvS dreams till date.

While not bad, my problem with the Force Awakens was how safe it was. So while the 93% is great to look at. Many people at least liked the movie.

Its a movie that doesn't have the replay of others with worse % because it didn't take any chances.

It didn't take any chances...? It introduced an entirely new slate of characters into the most beloved franchise of all time, the two main characters belonged to demographics that are vastly underrepresented in blockbuster films, it introduced a villain that's anything but formulaic, and it killed off one of the most iconic characters in cinematic history.

I can't quite figure out what's so safe about those decisions?

It's 93% RT (means it appeals to almost everyone) because the prequels were so bad. If the prequels were done well there is no way this film could be made this way with a plot line so close to A New Hope.

As it is, the beats being so close to ANH work to give the nostalgia back.

But yes it was a very safe movie, people actually like safe.

the sub-copy is "official wedding"~

don't know whether this is posted yet, Ben, Henry, and Zack will kick off the BvS world tour by visiting Beijing at 3/11.

it's really hard to gauge how well the film will do in China, MOS and TDKR grosses are pretty meh. However, the Chinese movie market just exploded, cbm released in 2014 and 2015 mostly did very well there.

hope this tour, and the generally good superhero appetite there could help~

And with the Hot Toys event in Hong Kong, I think there's quite a bit of interest in this film over there.

In terms of the narrative, it relied a lot on nostalgia. But a theme that runs throughout the series is the idea of destiny. The similarities can obviously be forgiven because the entire franchise has relied on thematic parallels.

From Anakin losing his hand, to C3PO losing his head. George Lucas has said in interviews that the similarities were intentional. That there was meant to be an echo of history repeating itself. That there is supposed to be a rhyme.

The Force Awakens is telling us thay we've been here before. We know this world, and that the magic still exists. It did what it needed to. It rekindled the interest.

Now, as far as plot elements go, this wasn't a safe movie.

Making the lead character in a Star Wars film a woman was a HUGE gamble.

Making the biggest supporting character black, as we saw, had tremendous backlash.

Some people hate how Kylo Ren was characterized.

And, though I haven't seen anyone complain, killing Han Solo could have divided the fanbase.

They did the best they could with what the audience was asking for, but they were NOT simply playing it safe.

That's all I'll say about it because people are getting touchy, but I really disagree on this one.

:whatever:Take your crappy star wars chit chat somewhere else.......(goes back to house of cards)

We need more soundtrack leaks. Specifically these...because March 18th is too far away. :(

Do You Bleed.

Fight Night.

This Is My World.

Positive news: The Turkish Airlines promo videos together have amassed 30million views.

lol I listened to Their War Here as well! :hmr: It's so good!

I know right. So many people saying they have the ost but they don't release it?? Look, I know it's technically pirating but I mean, I don't care. I've pre ordered the soundtrack already anyway. I just want to hear it now

Is it pirating if it compels me to buy their soundtrack? I think not. :sly:

My morals get confused when it comes to pirating. Take TFA for instance. I saw that movie 2 times in theater. That cost me 45 bucks. Does that make it okay to download a cam copy of it? I'll by it when it comes out but I don't want to have to go and pay another 20 something dollars to watch specific scenes again.

It was basically "A New Hope" with the names slightly changed.

Batman Begins is on tv, yep, without a doubt my favorite Batman movie yet.

Question.

Do you think there will be an after credits scene?
