I know a guy who thinks (adamently) that the OT is just as retarted as the prequels and that we're just blinded by nostalgia. I think there's a certain degree of truth in that.

One of the biggest things that makes them superior is the character of Han Solo.
The prequels are a burden to watch without a cynical view from a person with a sense of humor.
And no one died of a broken heart in the OT.

Another key to superiority is, NO CHILDREN in the OT.
