Almost Human

The concept for this weeks ep was good but poorly executed. Next weeks finale looks interesting, not sure this has done enough to get a second season though.

Has there been any word about them renewing the show? Sleepy Hollow got an announcement pretty early.

I just finished the latest episode and it did have a good message, but it's hard to get invested into any of these characters because the stories aren't flowing. Like the whole Chrom thing with Minka Kelly's character. That actually would have been nice to know in the beginning of the show instead of the end.

So that was ironic with the plastic surgery guy finding out that the woman he had been communicating with online was actually blind and wouldn't have cared what he looked like all along. If only he knew earlier, then he wouldn't have been killing all those people off for their parts.

What does Chrom mean or stand for exactly? How does that make Minka Kelly's character different from others?

I've never posted in this thread so far because I've always been about one or two shows behind and didn't want spoilers. So is the season already ending?

Chrome is short for chromosome, as in genetically modified and "perfected" humans. An expensive procedure I assume, even in the era of Almost Human. It came up a few episodes back with the designer drug.

No word has been given on the renewal or cancellation of the show. It's on the bubble as they say and I haven't seen anything official announced on it's status.

I also just realized this is the season finale for the show coming up tonight.

Oh well at least I caught up in this thread for that.

Just read a few pages back and saw that some of it was aired out of order. I didn't notice too much myself. Some must have been in order though, because Dorian moved out of the storage locker with the other robots and they later showed him living in his new quarters when his head was being tinkered with.

I was getting overly excited that Dorian had got Kennex a black leg like Cody's white leg in Enlisted.

Hope it comes back next year.

Still one of my favorite shows on tv. I'm sad we have to wait for another season :(

Ok, it is me or there were two big homages to Blade Runner : the music theme in some scenes and Kennex eating at the Japanese street restaurant ( with BR music theme too ) ?

Where is the logic in this, exactly? What advantage is gained by pulling **** like this?

I think Fox just has it in for certain shows. It may be personal or political, I don't know.

Decent episode to close the season out, but the show has surprisingly not gained any traction with a bigger overarching story.

The finale felt rushed, but the interaction between Dorian and Kennex was great as always. I still have more questions about the universe in this show.

What is The Wall besides a good album?

Why did they build The Wall?

Why did Maldonado pick Dorian of all robots?

Why is Minka Kelly so damn wooden in this show?

What happened to that group that Mekia Cox was with?

When are they going to go after them?

Naturally this will get canceled though, and I won't get my answers. :csad:

Yeah, I was disappointed there weren't any resolutions on those questions either. It ended on a high note, none of that cliffhanger stuff but it still left plenty to be answered.

Wow, that was a season finale? Weak. Did not feel like one at all.

The opening investigation with Dorian didn't tie in with the main case at all, and presented itself as a source of humour more than an actual problem. There's nothing wrong with humour of course, but they could have had both.
The straw man case had some neat idea's but they didn't make too much sense. WHY was the killer leaving bodies for the police to find? Did I miss something? Since he kept abducting runaways, skipping that step would've resulted in no one looking for people whom apparently disappeared of their own accord.
And despite this being the case that killed Kennex's father, it didn't feel any bigger than any other episode.
Since the bodies ended up leading the police to him, it's even more
Good actors, good effects, some neat ideas, and nice banter, but the show has completed it's first season as a giant missed opportunity. I wouldn't renew it unless it had a giant overhaul in direction. As it is, I wouldn't miss it if it were gone.

Was it really supposed to be? I always thought it was a regular 22 episode season, but was never given a back nine order. And Fox never said it was something like Sleepy Hollow with 13 episodes.

:nono: I do not think this was a season finale. I really have no idea what it was... I want this to come back for Ealy and Urban alone. That's it.

If it wasn't the season finale then it is a mid season finale as there are no other episodes listed. Plus SyFy has it listed as a season finale.

Fox Drama ‘Almost Human’ Cancelled
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

EXCLUSIVE: I have learned that Fox has opted not to pick up a second season of Almost Human. The futuristic drama starring Karl Urban and Michael Ealy got off to a sluggish start in November but held enough ground to at least earn renewal consideration, often finishing on par with its Monday companion (the already-renewed drama The Following). In fact, the March season (and series) finale of Almost Human logged a 1.5 rating in 18-49, matching the Live+Same Day rating for last night’s finale of The Following. (The Following is a bigger DVR draw). Almost Human‘s chances started to slip once Fox’s drama pilots started to come in. All three of them — Gotham, The Red Band Society and Empire – are considered strong contenders for a series pickup. That didn’t bode well for Almost Human. Also, it is produced by an outside studio, Warner Bros TV, which also has The Following and the sure-to-be-picked-up Batman prequel Gotham. Almost Human, about a cop (Urban) paired with a lifelike combat-model android (Ealy), comes from the Fringe team of JJ Abrams and J.H. Wyman. Elsewhere in Fox bubble land, the renewal chances for Seth MacFarlane-produced freshman comedy Dads appear to have gone up in the past few days.
****ing ****. :csad:

I could go either way with this. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either.
