I'm pretty underwhelmed by the new suit too.

Not that it looks awful, but the first suit was damn near perfect, and rather than a modernization, a sophistication of that design, The Avengers costume looks more like a step backwards than forwards.

TFA was definitely better in my opinion. Loved the ruggedness of it.

At first, I liked the Avengers suit, but as more pictures surface, the more I hated it. I have no problem with the helmet, but more with the color of the blue. Maybe it would look better if it was a bit darker? The blue on the current suit looks a bit washed out.

Captain America's Suit design is bad, especially the collar, Helmet and the overall look, only things that are good are the boots and gloves.

Like many, I don't mind the suit but I really hope he doesn't wear that stupid Shaq/Steel-esque helmet often in the film.

MAN he looks stupid they should have at least made the suit a darker blue.

I keep waiting for those points where the suit meets to curl up.
You know like around his neck going towards his shoulders.
I keep thinking that the points are curling upwards.

Eh, the Avengers suit has grown on me. Its not bad, it just looks too "out of the box" in a couple scenes. Which, given it probably *is* out of the box. . .

I'm pretty sure it's not even a helmet. It looks a lot like a hood-esque thing in the trailer. It probably looks like that material because it's going to end up being made of Kevlar or some other bulletproof substance.
