Am I The Only Person Here.........

He doesn't take any joy in what he does. he has said that countless times when the character is written by competent writers anyway. Most writers (Fraction, Whedon especially) don't understand the Punisher and make him this mindless killing machine who gets a ***** every time he has a gun in his hands. When writers write him like that, of course he will come across as a sadist.

If we're talking about the MAX Punisher then yes he's a sadist. If we're talking about War Journal Punisher then no he isn't a sadist. As you said it depends on the writers. Recent writers have depicted him as a killing machine who enjoys killing and has no remorse for what he does.

I wonder what would you say to Fraction or Whedon if you saw him in public? If I saw him, after the encounter Id probably be worried about being arrested.

...and because LGF still had the rights to the Punisher, and when Blades were made Marvel Studios didn't exist.

I don't think he's a sadist in the max comic,,,unless it's personal and you try to screw with his family.

like barracuda is #54 found out.

Stan Lee and Avi Arad said that there won't be any PG-13 Blades or Punisher movies. Before they would think about doing that(and they won't)they would find another studio first.Or they might make an R rated animated film before they think about turning those hardcore characters into PG-13 characters. :unishr:

marvel is kinda dumb for going against doing any rated r films. i'm sure that will change with time. just as with comics, as the medium became more mature, marvel responded with the max imprint... and if they ever get the punisher rights back, they'd have to be crazy to make it pg-13.

Marvel said that they wouldn't be doing any R-Rated movies. They didn't exactly say Blade or Punisher, but anyway.

That's what I heard to. I think that will change when they get some "R" rated characters back. But with the characters Marvel Studios have, I can't see them making a "R" rated movie. I wouldn't if I were them.

I would if I were them.

Is so hard for Marvel to do both,PG-13 films and R-rated films.

Yeah, probably. They did 2 movies this year, right? Hulk and Iron Man. Next year I don't THINK they have anything. Then between 2010-2011 supposably we've got Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers. That's quite a movie load.

So realistically, Marvel Studios can't manage more than that for now. If they could, they'd likely have another movie out in 2009, I'd think. Plus, you look at their list of movies on the docket...

It's something like Ant Man, Black Panther... about a billion other, lesser titles... there's TONS of places they could go before they turn to things that work with an R-Rating, like Punisher, or MAYBE Daredevil. Now, if they were a huge, Warner Bros-esque studio, they might be able to manage a ton of movies, and still have room for some R-rated ones. That's not how I see it standing at the present.

if marvel made "Blade" rated R.

The punisher warzone should be rated R.

Yeah, as Kable said, NLC made Blade. You'll often see Marvel logos popping up at the start of movies like X-Men, or Spider-Man, or Punisher War Zone this December! But Marvel Studios is a separate entity in ways, and it is an independent studio that does not require itself to lease it's characters out.

Marvel Studios made The Incredible Hulk/Iron Man. So far, everything else made was by a separate studio, like Fox or Lions Gate, getting the rights to the character.

am i the only one that thinks the punisher skull is too faint, i don't know, it doesn't really matter but its barely visible in the clips i've seen, isn't the whole point of it to draw attention from his head and towards his more protected torso?

yeah the skull is faint. I hope they have a more prominent version of it in the movie.

I think it kinda falls on how the lighting is in the movie. Look at the teaser posters you can see the skull pretty damn good compared to how it is in the film, where in a few shots it looks like it's not even on him.

I really wish they would have gone with a type of lighting closer to how the posters were done, rather than try to emulate the color off the comic which still doesn't work for me.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned before, but...

Am I the only person here who is more excited to see the video game adaptation "Max Payne" than this new Punisher movie?

Now, I know...

we have all been duped before.

Trailers can be very deceptive little creatures.

However, this Max Payne movie looks like it is going to really rock!

Director John Moore had directed the somewhat descent flick "Behind Enemy Lines". So this film has gotta be some fun.

Well, regardless of whether the Max Payne trailer lives up to the hype of the actual movie, I can say this...

Max Payne is going to blow away this new Punisher film, thats for sure.

OK. Well if Max Payne is opening on December 5th then it's competition, but since it's not the point is moot.

I was referring to box office sales in general.

I've never played Max Payne before, but the trailer sort of has a Constantine feel to it.

Some how I doubt it'll actually be as good as Constantine. So what you about it as an adaptation, as a movie it was pretty damn good.

I thought Constantine was alright... I couldn't stop thinking of Neo throughout.

I think Max Payne looks way better... and if it is at all like the game it will be nothing like Constantine.
