I was just checking that i wasn't violating some rule.Nah, it's all good and I wasn't criticizing, I was just saying "Hey, since this in on your mind, check this out, too"
Thanks, glad you like it. If you were referring to my stuff.cool stuff.
If you mean my stuff, thanks, and if you mean all the work on this thread, I agree. This is some really cool stuff.Jaw-dropping work !
To get some really good in site into the X-Men Evolution style go to this guy's website:can anyone teach me a simple way to draw, i want x-men evolution or bruce timm, i think i could convey my ideas through those very good
Thanks so much for liking my art.well both your stuff and the whole thread. Even though I didn't request how to draw Timm drawings thank a lot !
There are lots of comics out there that are a rip off of Marvel and DC characters, so its understandable. I was getting the DC vs. Marvel comics that lead into the Amalgam comics, so thats how I know.Yeah I was onbout your stuff Artistsean. And this thread is cool too, didn't know to much about it, got a book The Amalgam Age Of Comics, The Marvel Comics Collection, but thought it was a knock off of D.c and Marvel till I looked on this thread, then I looked on the web yesterday to see what Amalgam was, and I was shocked, its cool, Going to have a go, at drawing some now .lol thanks
Perhaps I'm aging myself here, but this just makes me think, Atom Ant. For those who don't get it...![]()
the Atom + Hank Pym (Giant Man, Ant Man, Yellow Jacket) = Atom Man
Well, thank you very much. Glad you are.
Here is some more

(I didn't make this by the way)
I merged Batman and Spider-Man because of some similarities in their comics, both have some of the most interesting villains in comics, both lost loved ones greatly influencing their life's as vigilantes. But I wanted to try something else,
I was inspired by Blue Spider, from page one, Spider-Man and Blue Beetle are very similar in personality and were both created (or co-created) by Steve Ditko.
And so...
Spider-Man + Blue Beetle = Red Spider

The original Red Spider:
Ben Garret (Uncle Ben Parker + Dan Garret) was an archeologist who found a mystical Spider medallion. The medallion granted Ben super strength, speed, durability, and invulnerability.
During WWII he fought along side heroes like Super Soldier and, calling himself the Red Spider, was hailed as a hero. His costume is similar to the original Blue Beetle, except that his chainmale is now webbing.
Flash forward more recent times. "Uncle Ben" is now taking care of his nephew Peter with his wife, her sister's son, after they were killed in a plain crash. Ben has retired, from his daily job and from being a superhero. Peter first came to live with Ben and May when he was only ten, now Peter is a senior in High School.
One day Ben is forced out of retirement and becomes the Red Spider again. Peter just so happens to be near and accidentally distracts the Red Spider. He is shot and the villain got away.
Peter is shocked when the Red Spider calls out for him. Peter removes his mask and sees it is Uncle Ben.
Ben gives Peter the medallion and asks him to carry on as the new Red Beetle. Peter promises.
Later Peter tries to use the Spider Medallion but is unable to, but he made a promise to Uncle Ben, he is responsible for his death.
so...

Peter Kord (Peter Parker + Ted Kord) creates weapons, an armored suit, and using only his athletic ability and his inventions, becomes the new Red Spider.
Peter finds that Uncle Ben also had a Spider-Mobile, and with some modifications Peter makes it the "Bug". a flying spider looking vehicle. (A reoccuring joke is that Spiders don't fly)
Peter has a hard time at first because he is still in high school, he finds out that now the public sees the new Red Spider as a vigilante and a menace, and he has to keep this life from Aunt May (who may or may never have known about Uncle Ben either).
One of Peter's inventions he uses the most is his Spider-Gun, it shoots a type of webbing, or a blinding light. All his weapons are non-lethal. He also has "Spider-trackers."
Peter's costume comes equipped with buttons and triggers, some to contact his "Bug" and others for other reasons, he also has webbing under his arms to allow him to glide better.
Peter has no powers, and sometimes uses inventions like night vision goggles.
Heres the back of his costume, minus the webbing:

Or maybe instead of Spider, maybe its Beetle-Man:

See, instead of a spider its a beetle logo. His costume is still red and blue, but no webbing.
Here is another costume idea for the Red Spider:

Maybe there is no webbing at all.
I have tried to design a costume that evenly merges Beetle's and Spidey's.
And it got me thinking that there are a variety of different ways to merge not only their designs but the characters as well. Blue Spider, Red Spider, Beetle-Man, there are lots of possibilities.
Even mixing a character like Spider-Man with Batman, or Batman with Iron Man, or Iron Man with Steel, or Spider-Man with Blue Beetle, or Spider-Man with Super Boy, there are lots that can be done.
They were both, Blue Beetle and Spider-Man, designed by Steve Ditko you know.
(By the way, I traced these from pics of Blue Beetle and added my own costume design. It was quicker that way.)
Thanks, thats very true. I have looked back into Amalgam comics recently, wouldn't it be cool by the way if DC and Marvel teamed up again to release a line of Amalgam comics (maybe even another company), but I digress,These are cool ideas
Maybe both are viable. Peter becomes red spider (like the gogles on the first but closed masked on the other)
But the reason he doesn't get powers is he never finds the villian the hood his uncle was trying to stop and took it so he creates the cocky beetleman identity and decides its easier to be a hero and he can get what he wants that way.
got any tips on how i should practice, other than just keep drawing?I was just checking that i wasn't violating some rule.
Thanks, If I hadn't seen it already I would have checked it out.
and it was what inspired me to do my own.
Thanks, glad you like it. If you were referring to my stuff.

WOW, thanks so much. I try.Artisean = best amalgam character designer and story make ever!
Just pencil mileage I guess. But if you just want to present your ideas you can trace an already existing drawing like I do sometimes, you can just use one of the drawings and draw your own by looking at that one, stuff like that.got any tips on how i should practice, other than just keep drawing?
Not having the X-men evolution styled guide I am not sure, but here is a tip that might help, i hope:okay, thanks, um any tips on the body and arms and legs? i've got the head, im not gonna say mastered, but they are recognisable, but the body is um, not good. lol
