If Peggy takes a youth potion, most of the Avengers will want a piece of her, especially Tony Stark.
As much as I love Hayley Atwell, and I'm deeply in love with her, if Peggy takes a youth potion, I'm walking out of the theatre. If I couldn't handle adamantium bullets, I sure as hell can't handle youth potions. If Peggy takes a youth potion, most of the Avengers will want a piece of her, especially Tony Stark.

I'm not against the idea of Atwell playing Sharon. A modern haircut, different tan and American accent could easily & believably sell her as Peggy's granddaughter.lol...you won't have to worry about that.
What we have here is the same case with Thor's MCU position when it comes to his own romantic life. He's currently involved with Jane, but mythology states that he ends up with Sif.
We had a tragic ending for Steve and Peggy in the MCU films, and comic book mythology states that he's to enter in a relationship with Sharon..so I doubt that they'll go up against that.
But, IF Amanda is playing her, or if someone else is playing Sharon, that person will have the burden on having to perform at the level that Atwell did in order to make this new relationship believable and worth watching.
What? So she was 18 when she was that high of a ranking officer? I know these things should be overlooked when were talking about movies but that just kind of bothers me.
Having her still be alive kind of takes away a bit of the poignancy of the ending of Cap. Yea he still missed out on having a life with her but he'll still be able to see her again. I rather she had passed on and have Sharon bring Steve to the grave of Peggy at the end of Avengers instead.
Honestly, while I enjoyed Atwell in the movie, I don't think her performance was that amazing. You're making it sound like it's going to be next to impossible for anyone playing Sharon to match what Atwell did as Peggy, which I don't agree with at all. But, IF Amanda is playing her, or if someone else is playing Sharon, that person will have the burden on having to perform at the level that Atwell did in order to make this new relationship believable and worth watching.
It wasn't 70 years exactly. it was 1945-2011, which is 66 years. Saying "You've been asleep for 66 years" sounds stupid, so Fury says "Almost 70."
If we're to take the comic book universe as gospel in the movie universe, Peggy Carter was born in 1920, which would make her 23 at the start of the film, 25 at the end of the film, and 91 in modern times.

I've yet to see it said in any official source that Peggy is 88 in modern times; care to share?
But, I think Cap takes place around when IM2 did (when he wakes up), which was shortly after IM1. So, that means she'd be 88 because the film would take place in 2008. Not 2011. If we're assuming IM1 took place when it was released, which was 2008.
Q: In terms of that 70-year period, what was the explanation for what happened to him between when he got into the original crash in the beginning and the hospital scene at the end? How did they preserve him? I was kind of disappointed that he never made the date.
JJ: So was he. It was Dr. Erskines serum that allowed him to be frozen for 70 years and not die basically. It was better than Walt Disney. (loud laughter)
KF: Thats right, Disney bought you guys.
JJ: No, it was the extreme cold and Dr. Erskines serum that allowed him to survive.
Q: Did the lady ever find out what happened to him?
JJ: When hes brought back to life, the lady is 88 years old. I mean, I would love to see them have that date.
KF: Its a May-December romance. Stay tuned.
JJ: Thats right.
Q: Does that mean Peggys still alive?
JJ: Yes, oh yeah, absolutely. Shes still alive.

The one thing that I wonder is that should his reunion with a elderly Peggy be saved for the sequel to CA or take place in the Avengers?
I've been thinking about this a lot. I think it should only be hinted about what happened to Peggy in The Avengers. I think Shield/Fury would have Cap believe she's dead, so that he can focus on 'the mission'. Then have it revealed that she's actually alive at the end of Avengers, and then that story-line can continue into Cap 2.
There's going to be so much going on in Avengers with so many character arcs that the Peggy/Sharon/Cap relationship aspect won't have enough time to be properly developed...
I hope whoever plays Sharon she is introduced to Steve by someone saying ''Agent Carter!''
in a sentence and then Steve hears this and he's in shock because he thinks it's Peggy but as he turns around he sees it's a different woman.
